given cohen's apparent "expertise", until i get evidence to the contrary i am going to assume real estate deal = setting up a mistress with an apartment.

It's basically the sopranos. When they initially raided his house and then hotel room, the story was he had a hotel because of his plumbing or somrthing. I immediately turned to my fiance and said he was with his "goomah" lmao (don't know if he's married)

I wish I understood American politics enough to know why this is apparently a big deal.

I think I've just become numb over the last 12 months due to the seemingly constant "It's happening!" excitement over people thinking this might finally be the end of Trump when it turns out it never is and probably never will be.

So why is this a big deal now?

That begs the question though, why didn't Hannity use some of those world class lawyers he has at his disposal for something like this rather then to go to someone like Cohen?

Like I said: there's basically no rational explanation that doesn't descend into tinfoil hat conspiracy, with the added problem that one of those conspiracies is almost certainly correct.

If I were going to go minimum crazpants on theories: he got up to something he felt he couldn't afford to have even the tiniest whiff of ever make public, and got it into his head that Trump would protect Cohen no matter what, and thus that Cohen was the safest place in the world to hide his dirty laundry. I call this the, "Hannity is a tremendous fucking moron" theory.

I remember when a parody account of Igor Lavrov got this "innocent" looking message from Hannity a while ago.

Someone is really worried the Feds have been listening in.

So is the most benign take is that Sean Hannity, a host for Fox News who made over 30 million last year, gets legal advice from a shitty lawyer who is only notable for being Trump's personal fixer by doing things like making NDAs for pornstars Trump has slept with.

Because that's a lot for the absolute bare minimum.

It seems to me that Hannity may have been unaware that Cohen would claim him as a client, maybe to attempt to protect communication between him and Hannity. Apparently, Cohen doesn't practice much law and his "fixer" background definitely makes me think that his relationship with Hannity, like Trump's, is in a similar capacity (regardless of how "trivial" it may end up being), but I wonder what would make Cohen claim Hannity while it is making Hannity try his best to attempt to distance himself not just in his status as a client but even in his relation to the investigation.

Seems like they both have an interest that they should have been on the same page about, that is now likely to come out into the open.

Wasn't there also that thing where Julian Assange was trying to dm who he thought was Hannity and it ended up going to some lady?

Is he going to jail?
Cohen? Remains to be seen. What today really means is that all of the stalling tactics Cohen's lawyers tried to use today have been thrown out and the FBI's investigation into Cohen can proceed.

Hannity? Probably not. Assuming that Hannity used Cohen for the same reason that Broidy and Trump used Cohen, this might mean that Hannity has or had a mistress somewhere out there. But there's nothing illegal about having a mistress.

The President of the United States and his largest supporter have the same lawyer. Do you not see why that is huge?

This is also huge because apparently, what they got in the raid doesn't suffer attorney-client privilege, meaning if Trump did anything illegal and it was found in the Cohen raid, it can actually be used against him.

The "WHY IS THIS A BIG DEAL? HURR DURR!" people are hilarious.

Either step up your trolling, or if you're somehow this ignorant (LOL) do like 5 minutes of research before you come into this thread and embarrass yourself.

And no, "I'm not from the US!" is not an excuse.

Kind of pissed that dude didn't keep up the act in the DMs and get Hannity to spill a little bit. Or at least get a sense of the flavor. Like, what area of investigation makes him most nervous.
