I don't think that has anything to do with why one would feel nervous.

I think it's more apprehension for the quality of the game than if it comes to a service or not.
The complete media blackout and lack of footage on the game since E3 would suggest a major overhaul, hopefully. I loved Crackdown 1 and many of the original team are still involved so I really hope they can turn it around.

They just need to make the game look good in marketing. I was excited for the game up until last E3 where it looked incredibly rough and not very interesting, but all the cloud demo stuff I've seen looked really cool. I don't expect it to be groundbreaking, like a AA-tier title, ~80s range on metacritic, but I expect it to be simple fun.

The game isnt getting a major overhaul offcourse. It just needed some polish and a good release window.
And a good reveal of Wrecking Zone.

His post implies that he's nervous because we've heard so little about it, that he's worried it may not be released. Given that MS put it front and centre in their XGP announcement suggests otherwise.

I agree, I have confidence the game will get nicely polished before it's release. Have a good feeling about Crackdown.

It won't be a major overhaul, they just said it needed more time when they announced the delay. A release likely less than a year later, suggests polishing what they have.

Crackdown 3 will be great. I have no doubts after playing it at Gamescom. They need to polish a few things here and there - and it's great they will get that additional time.

Also Fable Fortune just released.

Fable Fortune is an indie release, Microsoft just let them use the Fable IP (since the team is comprised of ex-Lionhead people).

I don't know, this looked plenty entertaining to me:

It just needed a bit of polish and structure, but that was just a quick demo of a build that is now more than eight months old.

I think Cloudgine being bought over recently is a a sign that the online cloud stuff never worked out for Crackdown.

I mean, if you weren't a fan of the previous Crackdown games, I doubt your gonna love this and think it looks great. For me, I thought it looked fine as is. I know what I want from Crackdown. Jumping around, collecting orbs and sniping people from tall buildings

There was nothing really wrong with CD3 from a gameplay standpoint, it looks really fun to play and that's by far the most important thing for me. They've taken out what we didn't like in CD2 and brought back the gangs, transforming cars, I just hope melee combat is improved. I wasn't as down on the graphics as some, as there's a lot going on, as seen in the video Remo just posted, but if they can improve on them, it's a good bonus for the delay.

I have high hopes for Crackdown. My fingers are crossed that this is a good delay to polish and refine something solid, rather than a bad delay to try and salvage a disaster.

What we've seen looks promising, I think, and we're hearing all the right noises, that MS are taking it seriously and want it to be a success. The first game was really good fun, so hopefully they've built it from that base. The same spirit, just bigger and better.

I mean not working to the extent the cloud based physics was supposed to work in Crackdown.
They will still be useful to Unreal just like that other cloud based company are going to useful to MS.
Cloudgine is specialised in that area, they aren't a "cloud based company" so they would be useless to Epic for anything else. Not to mention Epic is more than capable of handling anything cloud related themselves, the only reason to buy Cloudgine would be to get the tech and staff.

They already showed it working in a live environment. That wasn't simulated, it was really running on their servers. And Loftis and others have been mentioning it from time to time; every time the question is asked, the answer is "it's still coming".

I'm talking about what the actually showed during their conference looking rough and uninteresting

They did, and it looked less than impressive.
The video you linked is just gameplay footage, and a better showcase of the game obviously, but I felt like the E3 conference showing fell flat on it's face.

Yeah, the trailer wasn't all that great. I think that Crackdown 3 could really benefit from a good pre-release demo or a beta.

The Crackdown 3 tráiler looked horrible on E3.

At this point I feel that the game will reléase after E3

Also, they have a actually shipped game with a similar tech:

And at least according to them the cloud tech was working 3-4 years from now. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but it seems the reason Crackdown 3 got delayed so many times wasn't due the cloud tech itself (Trying to make a fun game around that tech would be my guess)

And other than physics the engine actually supports offloading many other stuff to the cloud, AI simulations, Lighting, animation, the engine supports even offloading expensive game logic to the cloud in a easy way. For instance a game like GTA could have an order of a magnitude more complex simulations and still run at 60fps on consoles. I heard an interview that they are also experimenting with streaming, not like something like Psnow, but rather, rendering the game on the cloud and broadcasting from there to twitch or mixer so your bandwidth isn't compromised.

Sea of Thieves, State of Decay and Crackdown...

The lineup pretty much gains a collective sigh from most mainstream gamers however I look at this lineup along with the state of Halo 6 to be the most interesting things to happen within Xbox in a decade. This is the first lineup that will truly reflect the new management structure. Almost all 1st/2nd party games so far this gen, both good and bad, were representations of Xbox's previous strategy and leadership structure.

Now Xbox firmly has Game Pass as a core strategy, Spencer was promoted and all these games were delayed (or in Halo's case given a longer than usual development window).

If Sea of Thieves has good launch content, if State of Decay looks more like a AAA game than an Indie and if Crackdown comes close to delivering on the hype from 2 years ago, gamers should start to gain confidence that this is truly a new
Xbox. If all 3 disappoint and Halo looks like it still can't rediscover it's identity, it'll be "same ole" with different names leading the way. Big opportunity in 2018 to change he narrative.

Of the three SoT obviously won't disappoint and SoD 2 and Crack 3 will be HUGE on XGP. XGP changes the game.

this announce of access to exclusive games day one on gamepass made me think "why they not wait to announce this on e3? it was a really big move and would be much more impactfull"

maybe the news on e3 are way more bigger?

Because with this out of the way they can concentrate on games coming to XGP.

It would have been pretty shitty for them to continue taking in pre-order money for Sea of Thieves and State of Decay 2 only for them to announce in June that those games are coming to Game Pass.

I have hope for Crackdown. The game just really needed some more polish and it will be fine. The last demo I saw there were cars piling on top of cars by the AI. When MS was showing it off at that comic con they had some celebrities playing the game that had no idea how to play and they were streaming it. Honestly I dont mind having celebs interview but be mindful as to how you show off their gameplay. IDK just my opinion.

I was wondering this. You think it would ever be possible that MS would open up the BC 360 titles to PC?

Yeah I'm not seeing that. If anything, it'd be more of a sigh for an enthusiast board. Co-op zombie open world game, shared world co-op pirate game has already shown to be appealing to a lot of people and Crackdown is a goofy playground. If anything I think the mainstream likes those alot

I believe all 3 have potential but certainly aren't shoe-ins to have success. If Crackdown would've released last year, I think it would've bombed based on what they showed. The 1 year delay of Crackdown when the single player campaign looked finished is a sign of maturity from the Xbox division.

Yeah definitely. Something like ReCore is something I'd expect mainstream gamers to ignore.

They are working on BC for PC. It's one of the things I expect to hear at this E3 or next year's...lost likely next year.

ha, was just about to post that video. I saw that the other day. I didn't care for what I saw earlier but that video changed my mind. Would I go out and buy it at launch? Probably not. Would I buy it discounted? Maybe. Which is certainly more than before. Went from zero interest to "oh hey, I might check that out". And now with it on GamePass its a no brainer

I would say the opposite, the games have been pretty much destroyed on forums, but all have done quite well in previews/demos with the public.

I do agree with the rest, but considering that they cancelled Scalebound (a platinum game!) and kept the others even some that had even more delays than Scalebound I assume they are fairly confident on the quality of those games.

Every time a new post appears and I'm thinking it's going to be something neat but nope it's another "look how the weather is beautiful in Seattle today"

Stop having a life and spill the beans already major

Haha really? Tweeting about the weather is weird, but Seattle is a beautiful/scenic city similar to Vancouver in Canada so I could understand posting the beautiful scenery :)

I don't know where to post this since it seems like the Forza OT right now is specifically Forza 7, but is there an active modding community for Forza Horizon 3????

Someone, please educate me on modding and the Windows 10/Microsoft Store, because I have a bunch of conflicting info.

It's a shame they only showed SP at E3 and nothing else. I understand they wanted to let the people see the SP but it's the MP that will keep people coming back eventually and it's the one thing we all really want to see, because of the destruction. I hope it's still in tact and not heavily downgraded.

Last year before E3 I had a lot of hopes and excitement for Crackdown. For example I was expecting the game to look like those screenshots but it doesn't look like that at all. I doubt these extra months have drastically changed the graphics.
