Mike Ybarra was VP of Xbox, he's now working at Blizzard (we could guess Blizzard is in possession of devkits).
input/output.
thanksInput/Output. How data is written and read in the system (he's basically talking about the SSD).
OP: Can we have the actual link to see the full context please?
i don't believe them. i think this is just all marketing crap.
apparently the xbox will have a nvme drive running at 2GB/s which is quite slow even for PCIE 3.0Unless they all got m2 drives or newer, I find it a bit hard to believe

ok. still don't believe it.Them? He's working at Blizzard and is an ex Xbox, he has no incentive at all to say that about PS5.

Ugh so where did Yikes Mbarra post this exactly? We need to find the source!I don't have it, read it on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/edvmin/when_mike_ybarra_moves_from_microsoft_to/

No need to apologize I'd actually love this lmao
Why is it hard to believe?

PCI-E 4.0 NVME drives go all the way up to 5GB/s thats bytes, not bits.
It won't be mind boggling, just developers that will use them in efficient ways to optimize games. I can imagine for the average consumers that hasn't touched a high-end PC it will be pretty significant.but how? i don't understand how it could be so much better than high end PC drives. why would a leap that far forward be used for a propriety console drive?
And I mean, Mark Cerny said it when he announced the PS5. He said the SSD was more performant that what achievable on PC nowadays, I doubt he would just lie when it's so easy to verify.
