Brand Intimacy Study - MBLM

We invite you to explore our newest brand intimacy study using the power of AI and big data to rank over 600 of the world’s leading brands.
The results this year are interesting, to say the least, and show a somewhat odd generational divide that I wasn't expecting to see.

First, the main headline is that both Millennials (born 1981-1996) and Gen Z (born 1995-2012, don't ask about the overlap) picked a video game brand as their #1. The difference? Millennials picked PlayStation while Gen Z picked Xbox.

Ford over Nintendo feels pretty damn awkward, at least to me, lol

US only, but for now millennials have more buying power. Could see a shift to XBox in the future as Gen Z build a decent income.

I'm surprised tesla isn't over Ford and jeep, and I'm surprised Nintendo is under Xbox, I think this is false

I'm a millennial who has an iPhone, a jeep, an Xbox, PS4, and Switch. I use my amazon prime account all the time and watch YouTube over cable any day. I also prefer Target.

Wtf.

Older folk have nostalgia for the PS1/PS2 era and younger folk have nostalgia for the 360 era.
Makes sense.

Makes sense to me, each brand had their best console during the respective generation's adolescence. PS2 for millennials and 360 for gen z. Maybe whatever gen is after z will be Nintendo Switch diehards.

I'm technically Millennial by the OP's definition (mid-1981), though I can't really say which I'd pick between PlayStation and Xbox. I've owned PS1 through PS3, but for the current generation I've had Xbox One S and X. Don't really feel the need to get a PS4, but if I saw an insane deal for one I might get one.

Agree. I'm a millennial. Super Nintendo is my favorite console of all time, but I would put the PS2 above the 360.
