To be "fair", he was very much trying to say "How can I be a white supremacist if my husband is black?" in that bit so it's not that out of place. It's just that he is absolutely doing the thing you're describing, though intentionally.
He doesn't get to espouse philosophies of hatred and intolerance that aim to strip millions of their rights and dignity and then 'mind his own business' when it suits him.

Jewish community have seen a raise in hate crime towards hem after what happened on the Gaza strip the last couple of weeks and people who attack them usually have a problem with Israel.

Has it been a 100% overlap? No unfortunately because there IS small section of the actual far left that is rather antisemitic. They tend to be the ones that are very apologetic towards Julian Assange and big on "globalist conspiracies". There also is a section of Muslims that are very antisemitic too.
But I think it's rather disingenuous to frame it as though western liberals and progressives aren't trying to solve that antisemitism as well. We are. It's just much more difficult because it involves dealing with groups that normally aren't the primary cause of antisemitism/bigotry. But there has been a very big push to make sure that any leftist movement in the West involves social progressivism and intersectionality.
A good example would be when you had people who previously had liked the women's march calling out Linda Sarsour for her support of Louis Farrakhan, a man who by all accounts is a hateful leader.

That wasn't because of any ideological alignment with them, mind you. I think he just thought it was kinda punk. I haven't ever heard him accused of expressing racist views or behaviors, but to say he didn't know this was Nazi imagery is just false.
Did Lemmy ever have a history of racist/bigoted views? I'm inclined to lean towards the idea that yeah, he liked the aesthetic (SS uniforms are generally praised for their design whenever I've read about them, which makes sense considering who made them).
As far as I know, no, never, and he certainly disavowed bogitry publicly. I'm not sure it's pure fashion sense, either but it is possible to be intrigued by a dark part of history without admiring it. I think it's similar to metal bands that reference satanism and serial killers.
It's an odd, unfortunate choice, but I haven't seen anything that makes me think it's worse than that.
