Minneapolis protests over murder of George Floyd. Police response more severe than when white supremacists stormed capitol. (See Threadmarks to help)

I usually don´t post in these threads, i´m not american and kinda feel like i have nothing to add, but..

1. Police are murderers. George was murdered.
2. People had it. This entire situation is on the powers that be (the city, state, and government).
3. So, riot, loot, burn shit down. I´m in full support, if the powers that be actually cared, this and similiar situations could have been prevented.

Also, shit that construction building is going down.

Destroying your own community by setting condos and local business' does nothing to stop any of the above. All it does is hurt everyone in the community. Shame on anyone supporting this shit, they are burning down residential areas for gods sake
Lmao. What's insurance for?
People should burn the whole fucking thing to the ground. You think any business is worth one black life? Fuck out of here.

One black life is worth more than all businesses in America.

Honestly? Loot the shit out of Target and any big business. Maybe then they'll take a stand and put pressure on the police force.

Also where are people watching this? Link to stream?
What did Target and those other small businesses do to them? And no, they didn't bother looking into seeing who owned said business and decided to loot based on what would bring on the biggest change. These are opportunists looking for free shit. Pure and simple. I guess looting Target and burning down AutoZone will show those cops and bring change. There are other ways.
If you're willing to go to jail for stupid shit like looting and destroying property, why the hell is that murdering cop home or that police station still standing. Nope, those places stay untouched and flame free.

You never resolve systemic racism, you can only hope to keep people's attentions focused on the problem long enough to make incremental change without distracting them with images of young people torching businesses and stealing things. The perception that gives enforces their incorrect belief that the people affected by this are just "thugs".

All I see this doing is enabling right wing media / blue lives matter to play victim and change the subject.

Enabling is already happening. Media makes up stories when they don't have any, same as cops. America elected a white supremacist. Again, this is going to add more fuel to the sun of systemic issues America has? Again, its pearl clutching. This riot proves that people are sick of this shit. Because that whole nonsense strategy you have in your mind, hasn't achieved fuck all in your entire lifetime.

Funny you mention Blue Lives Matter...

That was a direct response to a peaceful protest. Same with Colin taking a knee.

You could just not say anything. That's always a third option.
While others get to call me a concern troll and a shitposter because I was simply concerned about property damage or other people being hurt/killed? But fine, I'm now taking up way too much attention out of this important thread anyway.

Another black guy lynched in the street and people are crying about property that can be easily replaced.

I'm cool with fires and all but I do think burning an AutoZone was a poor choice. Terrible chemical fire smell all over the city and that can't be good for the environment/air quality. Like my windows are open and my whole house stinks now.

Working on that also.
Fuck peaceful protesting imo. Bet y'all think the civil rights movement was just everyone standing in a circle holding hands. I have family that was alive back then and people fucking died assholes. What you think MLK died and ended racism forever like this is the fucking Bible? Grow up.

The problem is that it's not just big businesses. Smaller businesses are being affected too. And they are less likely to be able to take such a financial hit like Target can. Especially with the whole COVID situation being the way it is.
If any local biz gets hurt I can almost guarantee some very strong local or even national crowdfunding or local support will get them back and running, especially if there is even a hint of actual justice and change beyond the firings.

MetroPCS on fire now too, and an under construction apartment building.

What do you want me to do then?
The correct answer in this case is "nothing"

Your initial comments were roundly chastised and for good reason. That should've been the point where you said nothing else and went on with the rest of your night. Nobody here has any interest in seeing you attempt to defend yourself in a topic that has nothing to do with you personally.

I 100% recognize that this is an institutional failure. Doesn't mean I have to tolerate "Fuck it burn it down" nonsense.
You recognize the institution sucks, but will defend that institution from any efforts that might actually change it because it makes you uncomfortable.

Either you're not really that concerned about the institutional failure, or you believe in the fantasy that it can be fixed by unicorns and rainbows. It's a shitty mindset either way.

Incremental changes?

Then don't, no one said you have to tolerate anything. In turn however, don't whine when people call out your posts for bringing tons of focus to the effect and not the cause. Like you want it both ways but it doesn't work like that.

Imagine if someone said, hey the nazis were bad but do we have to bomb German buildings?

Yes, we do. All of it has to be burned to the fucking ground.
