Minneapolis protests over murder of George Floyd. Police response more severe than when white supremacists stormed capitol. (See Threadmarks to help)

This is absolutely in my lane based off your message, and I'm not ignoring anything. I did not hear of any violence.
No, your privilege doesn't get to tell us how to protest.

Go read an article about the white supremacist trash that stormed the Michigan statehouse with their bigoted imagery and rhetoric and try and use some critical thinking in deducing what the difference is between them and those protesting the lynching of black and brown bodies.

Imo the national guard is not a bad thing. I'd rather they handle this than the MPD.

Surprising amount of people rolling concealed carry and this has the potential to be very very bad if the NG does not come in.

I have a rather sad confession to make here. Not directly in response to this incident but a previous one in Minneapolis.

I'm from Minneapolis originally but haven't lived there in many years. I went to visit during my cousins return home from overseas a few years back.

The entire family was at my uncle's home and we were barbequing and drinking and having a merry time until somehow the conversation changed to my uncle's previous jury duty. Which as it turned out was the gentleman who was killed by police in his car. (Now I haven't fact checked this, but if jury names are public accessible, his surname is Koch)

He said it was his duty to protect our law enforcement and that's why he came to his decision. I fiercely debated with him and other relatives to no avail and have since been ostracized by my family, which I believe is because of that debate.

I felt deeply ashamed of my family ever since that night.

I wasn't able to change one person's perception and they still believed it to be the right thing to do. My family is part of the problem it seems.

Just know that I and plenty of others appreciate you taking a stand. Thank you. I know it can seem disheartening, but you, unlike your folks, are actually on the right side of history.

Reports of an elderly white man in a car driving around intentionally driving into people. Police had him in custody the first time but let him go. He hit a black man who wasn't involved in the protest but was near his car. After police let him go he did it again. Described himself as a vigilante. Don't have a better source right now but multiple people are reporting it. Idk if anyone here is out there but stay safe and avoid this car.

Of course the fucking pigs let a white man trying to commit vehicular homicide go. Of fucking course they did.

Fucking worthless pieces of racist shit.

Apparently the license plate of this person's vehicle is 163UYJ... wouldn't surprise me if he is a pig.

I really don't understand the holdup as far as the lack of arrest.

THE WHOLE THING WAS CAUGHT ON VIDEO.

Arrests should have been made long ago. Firing them was a baby step, but it certainly wasn't anywhere near justice.
Because why arrest someone when they belevie they didnt do anything wrong

I am on the right side of history and that's why I don't feel bad about losing contact.

I won't be some historical figure remembered in history books but I'll die knowing I wasnt a scum bag. And that's reward enough.

This situation is fucked.

Man, I grew up just across the river from where this is going down. I may not live there now, but it hurts seeing the senseless murders. The Philando Castile murder hit home for a variety of reasons, it’s tough to watch all this.

Hope you guys are staying safe.
