Minneapolis protests over murder of George Floyd. Police response more severe than when white supremacists stormed capitol. (See Threadmarks to help)

White dude concealed, was one of the first to smash windows and get the crowd going while POC try to stop him and he slinks off.
Cops do Op shit like that. That’s basic law enforcement tactics, FBI/CIA

Even if that person has no affiliation, same tactic. Doing escalatory shit to incite chaos within a high tension environment

Minneapolis
I lived on the north side of Minneapolis for 14 years during the Murderopolis years. My mom worked retail at Daytons and later worked at a clinic for pregnant teens/beaten wives. Target gave my aunt a start and is now a VP.

I want to write “the burning of my town is righteous and justified” - but I would be lying to myself. I simply hate it. This all makes me depressed.

Yeah, I’m proud of how vocal and active the protests have been. But seeing buildings burning just depresses me. Hopefully the government takes some action and sentences the cop responsible to prison on murder and the MPD is forced to reform but unfortunately there will probably be a lot more destruction before we can get results.

I think thats the problem with systemic racism/oppression.

It makes one think they have to justify or purity test riots when they happen. Ultimately, its a tragedy that the system has totally failed an entire population so thoroughly that this is the result. If this is the only way people notice an issue, that is devastating in itself.

I’m guessing this may have already been posted, but yeesh this is awful. They’re clearly doing this shit to send a message which is sickening. They don’t give two shits about a man losing his life to BS. Why did it have to come to this...

White people are either adversaries, obstacles, or scenery.

There are no allies until they recognize that they need to come to terms with those three.
That was borne out last night once again by the concern trolls in this thread crying about firefighters not being able to save brick and mortar and stereotyping protesters as evil people preventing first responders from doing their jobs and thus being part and parcel in killing citizens (in empty buildings).

Really fucking pathetic and once again proof positive that black and brown skinned people don't have any allies except ourselves.

Riot protest is good. Looting is good. Destroying property is good.

Abolish the police. End systemic oppression, cooperate for revolution

Same shit happens evertywhere: cops kills a poor-minority-protester, people go ape shit for justice, other people in the comfort of their homes start crying about buildings.

Peak late capitalism, a building is more important than the lives of the people, than the whole corrupt system in place that allows it.

So what kind of buildings are being targeted by these protestors? Do we have a breakdown or is it random?

I mean, all these places have insurance I would imagine so it's the insurance companies paying out that suffer but also fuck them anyway.

why haven't they arrested the killer yet
Because like with the multiple other unjust deaths of black people in just this year, they don't want to/they're hoping to put off having to do anything for as long as possible so they can change the narrative to make the black population look like they're in the wrong/being unreasonable and/or lighten the punishment of their officers without being called on it by the mainstream public.

Well said. I think that was what I was trying to articulate last night when I said watching the building burn made me sad. I’m not sad about the buildings, I’m sad because it just hits you “So this is where we are at now.”
thats me every day at this point. It was hard watching him just dying with a knee on him and a cop with a shit eating grin, while the asian cop seemed to pretend he wasn't there mentally.

Seems random so far, Auto zone, Target, apartments it seems like whatever is in the vicinity. I sure hope this doesn’t put out any small businesses, Target will be fine of course but it still depresses me to see all the destruction regardless.

A reminder that the city they are supposed to be protecting burns while hundreds of them are there. They could easily relocate this man and his family and go protect the buildings if they actually wanted to.
Yeah I was wondering why the presence at the station was so anemic. Its damn near busted to shit, there was just like 20 of them outside.. maybe 30 forming a line...

Then I see the fucking clone army shot with all of them lined up.

Is there another way to watch this video? It seems to have disappeared

Been listening to Minnesota Public Radio this morning, and their reporters down there are on the air saying the destruction is way worse than you've seen on the news last night and this morning, which are mainly focusing on the Target and autozone and the large buildings in the vicinity. According to MPR, the destruction stretches for "miles", and that many small businesses have been looted and/or torched as well. And its still ongoing.

EMTs, firefighters, healthcare workers are heroes, they save lives.
Some are. A lot aren't. Unless you're white and benefit from the privilege of your white skin.

Fucking hell! Yeah I saw a bit off Lake Street when I drove into work this morning but I don’t want to see what else has happened. Hopefully people stay safe.

You're really missing the point here. You should never fight crime with more crime, even when you're fighting a big crime with smaller crime. You should fight it with peace and solidarity. Let your voice be heard without affecting others.
Peace and solidarity apparently doesn’t work. It’s been tried countless times.

Minorities have been completely fucked since day one of this country’s founding and I 100% stand behind them right now. It sucks for companies like Target, but when murder has been normalized and peaceful dissent does NOTHING, this is the next step. Maybe, just maybe, America should attempt to make things right with a system that was born to HATE people of color.

41+ million folks unemployed (disproportionately lower income and PoC), a nonexistent social safety net, and the festering sore that is American racism: Not A Good Combo. Buckle up, going to be quite a summer.

It is very hard for me to read this as anything other than a showing of solidarity. It honestly makes my stomach turn.

I used to believe the few bad apples theory, now I'm not sure there has ever been a good apple. I don't know what it is going to take to bring real change. I hate to see the rioting that is going on, but I am not sure if it is even close to enough to really catch people's attention and bring about real change. This whole situation is endlessly frustrating and discouraging.

Every single one of those bacon weaves needs to be jailed as being an accomplice to this murderer. And then the murderer needs to be dragged from his fucking house, either be the FBI or one of the people on the ground. I don't care which.

All cops. Every single last one of them are complicit in participating in an occupying force that upholds capital and white supremacy over the lives of my people.

I hope they all fuck off into the sun.

I used to think the few bad apples.

But now I see it this way, there are a few good apples who never speak up.

Making them bad apples like the rest.
