Nope. The agreement they reached requires them to start negotiating early. They're not going to have a labor stoppage just to stick it to the owners for a Pyrric victory
It doesn't matter to the union because LOOGYs don't make any money compared to relievers who actually get more than one guy out

it's only going to be for a few weeks, and to be fair he was only hitting .150 for the spring.
Either way, I'm far less about trying to shame teams from doing this and instead hoping they focus on fixing the system in general.

aka it's a little easier to justify saying that they want him to work on righting his swing for a few weeks compared to bryant who was being a monster in the spring and they sent him down anyways :P
that was quite the contact sound from hitting the ankle. Ideally he is fine. At the very least it must have hit the side right on the bone which would hurt like hell if you were just getting a bruise or if it cracked.

Happy for Trout, it was a fun dream for 3 weeks that he could team up with Bryce in Philly. But this is as clear an indicator as there is that when you can get someone, get them. Do not wait for someone else down the road. So many Phillie fans were hung up on Trout, thinking it was stupid to spend money on Harper when Trout would come in 2 years. Well imagine the lawless hellscape of Philadelphia if they had passed on Harper only to be "jilted" by Trout less than a month later. Thank goodness we don't have to live through that nightmare.
Unless Trout has some epic Vernon Wells-esque drop off in his 30s that still a bargain for the Angels. Now quit doing stupid shit like the Pujios signing and put a good team around this guy, Arte you dumbfuck.

Man, good for Trout and definitely great for Angels (unless Trout suddenly drops off somehow).
Trout is worth every penny, but it's going to be interesting to see if the Angels front office is capable of putting a winning team together. The Astros and A's are going to be good for a while. The Angels' farm system is ranked in the bottom third of the league. It's a damn shame if Trout continues to miss the postseason year after year.
I love the idea that a player's career is "wasted" for every second they are not on the New York Yankees.
