I thought I might never say this but I confess I'm immensely enjoying Call of Duty on iPhone X with Xbox controller.
Once you get past the terribad freemium UI there is a really addicting game buried underneath.
So much I now really wish for a great sci-fi FPS on iOS (not free to play), without having to wait for xCloud to happen and deliver.

I rather enjoy it as well. The only annoying thing is that I cannot seem to disable auto sprint.
also downloaded that Destiny-esque game and will try it with the Xbox controller.
I'd wager it's Shadowgun Legends. It's rather generic and got quite boring for me sadly.
campbell's GOTY list is up and I pretty much agree with the whole list. Number 1 surprised me, I really should get around to playing it.

Picked up Xenowerks Tactics based on this list.
Hadn't heard of it before, but the video gave me Warhammer 40K Dawn of War 2 vibes with its squad based RTS gameplay.
I loved that game and this looks like a great idea for my iPad.

Hmm. The few on that list I played I really enjoyed (Gris, Pipe Push Paradise). So I may need to look in to some of the others. I've seen a few places mention Astrologaster now.
It's a really unique, funny and well made game. Absolutely loved it.
Glad I came in, and notice this, cause now I have interests in Ordia, and Path of Giants, both of which are on android.
Kind of feel like sometimes it is hard to find new gems on android ha ha.
ICYMI There's a port of GameCube/Wii Emulator Dolphin underway on iOS and it's running games like Super Mario Galaxy almost flawlessly on the latest devices with MFi controller support and motion controls:

Didn't think it was but just redownloaded it and apparently it was updated two months ago with iPhone X support. But it's just borders. Still nice that it is!

Again just to set expectations, it is just borders around the original screen. That said, the joystick responds on those borders as well so it's not just superficial.
thanks, that's what i expected. the only real difference for a game like this without proper support is that the screen scales a few pixels above the iPhone navigation bar at the bottom. with proper support, it displays down to the bottom of the screen
We need someone who creates it though. I actually would prefer monthly threads. But it's 12 times the work I guess.

Maybe they are not active enough but it is really convenient to browse through the monthly threads to recall which games polarized in which months. For me monthly threads were like a compendium I could take a look in when I was looking for something. That is a bit hard to do in a yearly thread.
Thinking about picking up Astrologaster on iphone after seeing positive feedback from the GB crew. Does anyone know how it plays on iOS?
It's made to be played on touch and is an amazing ios game. Go for it.
