I purchased Inside and although it looks fantastic on iPhone X, it plays and looks awful on Apple TV4K. Strange because the Apple TV4K has a 10X chip.

Just got an iPhone 8 (upgrading from an SE) so I'm looking forward to use the bigger screen for some games! (Also, had no space on the SE with only 16gb)

Armello is free but is it f2p or is it more like a demo?

Armello has a weird pay model.
It is an amazing game imho, even if to fully appreciate it you need to put some time into it; tutorial is fine just for the basics.
Basically you earn gold and crystals just by playing (but you can pay real money to get crystals), and you can spend those to buy stuff (more on that later).
Also, you earn a chest that will contain colored dice (just cosmetic) every day.
Getting some achievements like win 3 games with the Wolf clan will unlock specific rings that you will equip at the start of the game (after 2-3 weeks you will have everything unlocked).

I *think* you can buy everything just by playing and grinding.
Or you can subscribe the monthly/yearly fee and have everything unlocked.

What can you buy?
Cosmetics things like season textures for the board or colored dice.
Most important thing are heroes (to be used by you or as enemies) that come with their own treats, rings and quests.
You can buy them single or in packs (like the bandit pack has 4 heroes).

If you play it and are happy with the 4 initial characters (which provide a ton of content) you won't spend anything.

It's a great boardgame, with multiple paths to victory, random board and clever enemies.

You can't go wrong downloading it for free anyway.

Be warned, at least on iPhone X it is a great looking game with tons of effects like blur and particles etc...but it cuts your battery like butter.
A game (around 1 hour) can trounce 20% of the battery alone.

I purchased and completed Florence on iPhone X. This is the type of game that would only work on mobile, I loved it.
Also I read that Simogo are giving up on mobile because of having to update their apps to new screen sizes and OS versions. Sad to see them go.

I think they'll regret that decision and come back. Apple has featured them a lot and would probably feature any new release as well. We'll see how they do in a console/PC only world, I guess.

Seems like a fair system. Since it was a paid game I was curious what this version was but it seems they retooled stuff for the mobile version?

I have an 8 so it should be the same as the X when it comes to performance and stuff like that. I'll be aware of it when playing.

I'll definetly get it and give it a try! Thanks for the info

Frost About to start playing Owlboy on Xbox One. Should be on the PS4 in a few hours!

Nah. I didnt like their silence so i bought it for Steam and very cheap indeed.

Im currently on my way to exchange my PS4 for a Switch for a few months (Zelda, Marios, Golf Story, Runner3, Night in the Woods,...) until Spiderman

Currently addicted to Hollow Knight. Unaddicted from iOS atm

I got it on Steam as well, but double dipped on Xbox One because I still am not crazy about PC gaming and lost built in Steamlink functionality with a new TV I got.

And got my Zelda and Mario fix with the Wii U for now.

Still anxious to get my hands on Oddmar next Friday on iOS!

That Original Journey dual stick shooter mentioned earlier in the thread is pretty cool. Very nice hand drawn graphics and mix with tower defense as well.

Hey guys, looking for a suggestion, I'm after a good turn based RPG for the iPhone that can be played Portrait mode, just looking for something I can play while standing on the train or whenever I have a few free minutes or boredom I need to kill. Not really looking for anything that has IAPs though, something thats one payment and thats all I'll need to pay.

I picked that up awhile back but couldn't get into it for some reason :( Along with Hoplite and Enyo just didn't hold me for that long.
Not RPGs in the traditional sense but do have some progression systems and turned based gameplay:

-Solitairica
-Teeny Titans
-Imbroglio
-Knights of Pen and Paper
-Reigns
-Dungelot: Shattered Lands

So is this just Sim Tower with more "stuff"?

Just like Cities Skyline could be described as "Sim City with more stuff", yes. Graphically, it's got a lot of charm and asks you to monitor more information than your traditional tower sim. You can also expand beyond the traditional offices with appartements, hotels and casinos that are very different to build and maintain. It's also the first one specifically re-tooled for iOS (we had Yoot Tower but it wasn't made with the iPad in mind) so this is the real deal. If you're looking for a modern take on Sim Tower with plenty of charm and more to do (including a lot of missions) then this is it!

Thanks! I'm gonna grab it...I think? Does it play fine on an iPad Mini? Or is it cramped?

Anyone know when you can purchase the chapters for FF XV? I heard it's on sale and redownloaded it. Do you need to complete the first chapter?

I think it may be $14.99 (originally $19.99) but can't confirm. Would be nice if it was cheaper :)

I got taxes to pay, God of War is coming to this week, and I've had to cut down on my game spending. Did finally get around to getting Ovivo and Lichtspeer so I'll post some impressions soon

I think April is one of those months where everyone is busy or has plans. First half of May is the same with so many people traveling (actually, that might increase the visitors to this thread).

Anyways I've been playing Evoland 2 for a while and I love it. Also redownloaded Kingdom New Lands since Pita's comments last thread made me want to finally beat it.

I've been busy playing on my PS4 since February and haven't really been mobile gaming much.

I'm sure it's just a matter of time before I dip back in, but yeah this thread ebbs and flows.

Ah, people are still alive! Just kidding.

I've been playing a lot on Xbox One and PS4 as well, but do frequent back here to see if there's any iOS gems I am missing out on.

Mentioned Original Journey earlier. Really a cool little game. Humorous dialogue, well made artwork and nice shooter/tower defense game play. Well worth picking up IMO.

TBH I did t buy anything recently because I didn't find anything new that really grabbed my attention (not a great month for my tastes) but....having injured my leg and being forced to rest since weeks I never played on iOS this much.
I'm just playing my fav games, notably I'm playing Race for the Galaxy, Armello and Out There (yes, again).

Looking forward Oddmar too!!!

Appstore Classic Super Hexagon has been updated with ProMotion (120hz) support on iPad and iPhone X support as well as MFi controller and keyboard compatibility:

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/super-hexagon/id549027629?l=en&mt=8
Wow. That must be a killer experience. Are there any other games which support ProMotion?

/edit

A quick Google Search only spitted out Phoenix 2, Vainglory and The little crane that could. That can't be it, right?

If Apple puts ProMotion on more stuff than just the latest iPad Pros we'll probably see more games support it.

I'd buy the next iPhone in a second if it had a 120hz display, especially if it meant more stuff would get 120hz support.
