F-zero has weird physics. When another racer hits you, your vehicle goes in random directions and its annoying. I'd go with SMK.

F-Zero's the better looking game to me. Even though its just a rotating sprite, F-Zero does a far better job of not looking like that and the track looking sort of like an object floating in space. The effect looks a little better in the GBA F-Zero games to me.

F-Zero always felt more impressive to me because of its speed and I don't believe it needed an extra DSP for the mode 7.

mario kart is hands down the funner game but much rougher to go back to today. not that F-Zero aged like wine but the mode 7 effect is a better fit for what it is
