Well, now that my 24 hour ban is over, 48 hours later, I don't really have any venue other than this to bring this up. I checked the rules and don't see anything about not making new threads about moderation.
So, background: To my knowledge I have never received a warning or a ban here. On the 3rd I popped into the Overwatch Xbox one X patch thread, saw a guy that was skirting the line between console war crap and not. Decided to respond to it relatively benignly and thought nothing of it. Enter ZhugeEX who apparently decided that somehow my posts broke a rule (Which one I'm not sure, I have thoughts of what it could be considered breaking, I would disagree strongly that it breaks anything, but I'll allow that rules are subjective to an extent and leave it at that), That post is here: https://www.resetera.com/posts/4125388/
Now, under the resetera guidelines, Barring extreme rule breaks I should be given a warning, and only in the case of repeated violations should it read to a ban, or extreme violations (posting porn for instance I would imagine is a quick ban). I was never given a warning, and even other posters in the thread pointed out that it was an arbitrarily harsh ban, and ZhugeEX simply goes "I think it's warranted in this case"...why? Do you have a justification for that? That's some VERY EvilLore level moderation, I like to think we're allowed to roam around this forum without being in coinstant fear of simply being on some moderator's bad side just because they're having a bad day or whatever else.
This all leads to the greater issues at play here than just a single ban:
-It was listed as a 24 hour ban. It was not 24 hours. It was 48. The fact that the ban in the system does NOT match the message, is both deceitful to everyone else, but it's also completely against the very rules for the site at all (which state it should be 24 hours).
-Secondly, having a ban on my record makes it look worse in the future when someone decides to arbitrarily ban me instead of warn me. There's no point in having a warning/ban system if it's not used properly. This is the equivilent of catching me speeding by 1 mph: Yeah, you probably shouldn't have pulled me over at all, but it's made far worse by turning it into a felony instead of just giving me a speeding ticket. Now I've got shit on my record that doesn't belong there under any circuimstance and the odds in the future that someone looks and says "Oh, that ban was pretty lame" are slim, I'm basically now on strike 2 instead of strike 0 like I should be.
-Finally we come to the issue that I have simply no recourse in the case of bad moderation like this, my options were to send an email that will never get read, send a tweet or twitter message that will never get read, or to just ignore it all. I couldn't even log out of the forums without deleting a cookie, or read the rules, or anything else. It basically holds the site hostage which is kind of nuts.
I know people might go 'lol just accept it dude' or whatever, but frankly it's pretty bullshit not to have any oversight or recourse when this shit happens, and AT THE VERY LEAST, a 24 hour ban should actually be 24 hours, instead of blatantly lying to the public.

If you find this is happening multiple places in your life, it might be worth considering that you are, in fact, the problem. You haven't been attacked, and you're accused of console war garbage BECAUSE YOU ARE BRINGING UP CONSOLE WAR GARBAGE.
