"TO ALL PRESENT FAMILY MEMBERS AT 2 AM, I AM ANNOUNCING THE PROCEDURE OF GOING TO THE BATHROOM AND URINATING, PLEASE HOLSTER ALL FIREARMS"
Are there any stats on people who have guns actually being safer in these less than ideal areas?
I've lived in some sketchy places and I can't imagine having a gun making me safer in those times, if anything I imagine it'd increase my risk of doing something stupid like the mother this thread is based on.
I know you're joking but it's pretty stupid to lump violent and property crime together. I mean getting shot is somewhat worse than someone stealing my bike.
I added an /s.
The thought of "announcing yourself to go to the restroom is nuts. Did she even have time to announce herself? The whole incident is sad and bizarre.
America is a cult
My thought as well. If only there were more guns around to deescalate the situation. The NRA is slacking. /sThis could have easily been avoided if the daughter had carried a gun, too!
Was the mom just chilling at home cocked and loaded waiting for intruders?
Getting shot? Yeah, low IQ move tbhThe gun is tangential to the story - that was a flat out stupid thing for the daughter to do.
Her dead arm will now be replaced with a rifle. This could have easily been avoided if the daughter had carried a gun, too!
Can't we just section the whole of America as the world's psych ward?
Hey, I already made that joke.If she had a gun, her daughter could have shot the bullet mid air!!!!!!
Not only will the daughter be in debt for college, now she will also have medical debt as well.

"and then I flushed the toilette and forgot to tell mom that it's me."
"If you realize someone has a gun for protection, and they're not expecting you — announce yourself when you enter the home, or even if you're getting up to get a drink of water in the middle of the night," Norman said.

AND THEY ALL LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER.
THE END.

Not by accident.Again we throw parents in jail for leaving their kids in a hot car
But a parent shooting their child by accident?
She'd probably be shot for eating dad's cake, too.Why that family is treating it with the same importance and when my dad finds out I ate his cake?
Don't see how you can make those statements simultaneously. As either way, even if you want to call the daughter's actions stupid for some reason, they would only be stupid because a certain someone was armed with a gun (as even say keeping the paranoia but replacing the gun with a knife it's much less likely for things to have ended the same way due to needing to get close and being able to tell who it was at that point). Either way, the gun was anything but a tangent to this story. The gun is tangential to the story - that was a flat out stupid thing for the daughter to do.
I don't get that too, was the mother waiting by the door with a loaded gun that she was able to shoot her daughter quickly enough before realizing it's her?
Trump will find a way to have both debts forgiven, she was just an innocent victimNot only will the daughter be in debt for college, now she will also have medical debt as well.
It's not though. I realized this as soon as my girl said she wanted to get a gun for protection. Any surprise visit can get you killed.
If you don't want to be surprised in your home by people entering, just lock the door.
Why would someone's first reaction to someone UNLOCKING the door be to shoot them??
Ahahahaa. Fucking fix yourself, America."If you realize someone has a gun for protection, and they're not expecting you — announce yourself when you enter the home, or even if you're getting up to get a drink of water in the middle of the night," Norman said.

That's why she shot her in the arm. To teach her a lesson.
