The problem is that, i'm not spreading any misinformation at all if i say "in my opinion"
That's what you have to understand.
You have no power over the opinion of other people, and they can say all they want about it.
For me a port is not only the mechanical aspect of the game, and the insertion of drm elements, no dlc from day one (when the console version has them), full price, no crossplatform and so on make it a bad port and a bad product where to invest my money on.
For you is a different story.
I have no obbligation over having your same opinion or to follow your same way to see a "Port".

I'm not talking as a pr representative or as a gaming journalist.
"It's my opinion" isn't some magic phrase that is going to turn something that is incorrect into correct.
A port of a game is a conversion of a game from one platform to another. Calling a game a bad port, in other words, a bad conversion using factors that are unrelated to the quality of the conversion is spreading misinformation.

Anyway, this is enough off topic, I'm gonna drop this discussion here.

Jenoss, cut the pretense. Your past posts have you obviously against MHWorld and a beef against capcom for putting out a new MH game that is not on a handheld.

You been hoping, expecting and predicting it failed way before World launches by using the marketing/investing perspective smokescreen .

And the fact you are hoping MH stays exclusives to handheld by citing monies.

Every single post you made have nothing positive about MHW.

I don't get where all of this should follow up for.. A witch hunt?
You cited some of my post where i even appreciate the game but dislikes capcom ways to make marketing, i don't get what's the point..

And i tried to predict something that even happen in the end, losing a big portion of the fanbase in japan.
Am i forced to be positive over something i don't feel positive about?

This place became hostile to criticize and opinions?

I don't mind the DLC not being there at launch. Part of the experience of playing Monster Hunter is the release of free content periodically. The community will group up to take it on when stuff is added. Having it all at once breaks that experience. It's like if Vanilla WoW gets released with AQ and Naxx already available. I don't see it any different from how they handle releasing Japanese DLC in older localized MH games on a schedule instead of all at once.

Gonna take a gamble with this because $45 is a solid deal from GMG

Please be an okay port

...and going by Capcom track record with both RE Engine and MT Framework titles this won't be a bad port, at all.

I don't know how the whole doom 'n gloom started, but I can assure you there is absolutely nothing to worry about with regards to optimization and performance. From a purely performance perspective, our min spec / rec. spec is generally set on the conservative side to ensure there's enough headroom.

As you pointed out, the game is based on our proprietary MT Framework engine. If you're familiar with any of our other games using this tech, you'll know what to expect in terms of performance profile, tweak options, and high scalability that can be adjusted to fit your needs.

I can explain it:
First: The system requirement. A lot of people dont understand that system requirements are often comfortable to jave a wide margin.
Second: The system requirement claims 1080p/30fps with a GTX 1060, at a high setting but people fail to understand that there is a resolution scale options, which at high setting MAY imply downsampling is going on.
Last: PCGamer had a Q&A with producer Tsujimoto, in which they were told that the port was aiming for visual parity with console versions, which I guess some meaning was lost.

I think if the PC options of the port were better explained by Capcom when announced, people would understand that the visual options are rather extensive. Especially on that resolution scale option.

I don't know how the whole doom 'n gloom started,
People saw 30 fps on the minimum/recommended specs -> "OMG it's 30fps locked!!!!1111!" despite the game being uncapped on consoles
People saw the rather high requirements -> "OMG it's badly optimized!!!!111!" despite requirements usually being conservative and there's no indication what "High" actually means
People saw the mention of "console parity" in a translated interview -> "OMG it's gong to look like on consoles!!!!!1111!" despite there being screens of the grahpic settings and by context "console parity" probably means "not gonig to have exclusive, specially implemented extra effects like Hairworks or better textures, etc".

There is being cautious and taking a wait-and-see approach and then there's this^, lol.
Also, what GhostTrick said.

Thanks for clearing the air. I suspected as much since I can't ever remember an MT Framework game performing poorly. Capcom has generally made good PC ports. I've run a lot of them on potato grade computers without much issue. This may be a bit of a different animal (monster?), but I am hopeful that it will be a good port.

Yep, I suppose it's understandable how it can be misinterpreted from a casual observer's POV and assume the worst.

Bought on steam. I've had money on my account just waiting for this game since release pretty much. Incredibly excited to get it so much sooner than we were expecting.

I wasn't going to double dip, but then I double dipped. €35 for the PC version pushed me over the edge. I'm going to have fun at low rank using weapons I haven't tried during my 300 hours on PS4 Pro.

Yup this is actually perfect excuse to play through all the content with weapons one hasn't yet focused on. I always tend to use something like GS/SA/LS/Hammer but this time I'll focus more on dooting from the beginning because for me there will be more friends to play with anyway on PC.

But is the framerate locked to 60 or not, that's the question. I don't even have 144hz monitor, but I'm curious anyway.

I bet it will beat performance then on the consoles for sure.

Also why do I never get GMG emails....

(I bought the game already dirt cheap though)

It would be a day one purchase if it had a way to transfer my 250h save.

capcom's communication/pr could've been better, at this point they should know by now the kneejerk reaction from the gaming community

What's this in response to? They're the ones who decided it made sense to release a PC game in 2018 with console parity.

i'm not talking about capcom japan's decision to release the game late on pc but the parity stuff is honestly a mistake because like, all pc ports are actually similar in mulitplatforms and a lot of them don't have added assets specifically for pcs, why mention it? When they could say they are looking into adding higher quality assets later for better PR.

What percent off are those codes at GMG? Signed up for promo emails when the release date got announced and still haven't been sent anything.

extra 7% off the DX version and 4% off the base version, so on top of the deal that GMG is doing the DX version should be 27% off and the regular version should be 24% off, so buy using the code you are almost saving something like $20 for the DX version which is not bad since it cost less than $60 and you get the game the extra DLC and the pre-order stuff as well.

So I'm guessing that if all goes well that we will be seeing at least 20k+ people at anyone time online for the game? That seems pretty cool so at least people won't have to worry about not being able to find people to play with online, the Steam chat update will definitely be useful with this.

If anyone wants MHWorld for PC but hasn't bought it yet, I've got some new GMG 7% Off (for a total of 24% Off) vouchers that expire on the 27th. Apparently these are "Unique" so I assume single-use this time.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1spxG87WF7pMzkVVs1k7v-tU4rmElgn-xkr8zQY8qw28/edit?usp=sharing

Please Strikethrough any code you use, and if anyone has any more from the latest run of GMG emails feel free to add yours to this spreadsheet. And for god's sake, Paste Values Only so the thing looks uniform.

Please allow some form of save transfer. I wouldn't buying again but the thought of trying to grind out those decorations all over again is too much.

Planning on picking this up. A bunch of friends that skipped consoles this gen are finally hopping on the MHW bandwagon and I want to help as much as I can.

Here's my plan:
1) power through into High Rank
2) farm HR Odo for the armor and Vice IG
3) be a goddamn ninja.

Really excited to see how bow/bowguns work with KB/mouse controls too

Not sure which thread to post this in, but I'll do it here. I got permission from a Capcom rep to post impressions of a review build of the game. The game supports framerates above 60fps (the framerate lock options are 30, 60, and "no limit"). Unlike most MT Framework games, the game can go beyond 120fps, though you'll need a very beefy PC if you want to get close to 100 with settings around max.

If people want me to test specific things, let me know. Note that I haven't played any Monster Hunter game before, so I'm new to everything. I can confirm there are very cute kitties in the game, but I suspect that's the case with the console versions too.

What sort of hardware are you running? Do you have any low to mid-range video cards you could try it with? Thinking GTX 960 or 1050 Ti/R9 270 or RX 560. Just curious what sort of frame rates we're realistically going to see on lower end hardware at say, medium settings or whatever.
