Thanks for the confirmation! Does the volume rendering quality got much of an impact on performance?Everything is highest except for Volume Rendering Quality which I've got turned off.

There's no beta, this was all press stuff
There is no beta. These are people with review copies.
Yeah, it has a pretty large performance impact. Thanks for the confirmation! Does the volume rendering quality got much of an impact on performance?
Gives me hope that my 1050 Ti can manage this on my 1600x900 monitor with a decent framerate at decent settings...Gamespot is doing a livestream as well, running with a 7700K and GTX 1070 at 1080p on I think highest settings except for volume rendering, they were running at like 80+ fps.
At the time of this post they're about to run it at the lowest settings for fun. xD

Yeah, this. I hope there's gonna be an in-depth technical explanation and comparison for the setting that's so demanding. While at a glance it looks better being turned off, I have a feeling that there's more to it than just color tint.I'm curious, what's the impact with all the different settings for volume rendering? I personally like the effect.

The change in hue is due to the day/night cycle progressing. When I quickly cycle between Low and Highest I actually can't tell a difference in the graphics. If someone likes the effect, maybe they can get away with playing with the setting at Low.
Dynamic? Can individual options be set to change on the fly? That'll be handy, setting what I don't care too much for to that.Uploaded some videos at 1440p:

lol chat going crazy over the load times.Max Dood is streaming the PC version right now

That's what I did most on PS4 and it was perfectly fine. There are a few times people wipe too quickly but hey... you're gonna do that too, it happens and the missions are meant to be played multiple times anyways, and then someone will fuck up and wake up a sleeping monster too early, little shit like that. Nothing that has happened to me which could have been avoided by being in direct communication with a group of friends has bothered me past 10 seconds, it's never a big deal, just minor annoyances. How good is this game about playing with randoms? I've never been interested in this series until it hit PC, but I have no one to play with.
I mean, it's in the name. It's volumetrics, meaning its simulating fog and haze. The "tint" is that kind of blue haze that you get when you look at things really far away. I wouldn't be surprised if it also handled god rays.Yeah, this. I hope there's gonna be an in-depth technical explanation and comparison for the setting that's so demanding. I haven't tried it yet. I'm downloading the game on that PC right now. Thanks for posting all of this stuff Fluffy, it's much appreciated.
Did you try out the 770 yet? Sorry if I missed it.
Is there a place in the game where I could easily test if it impacts effects like god rays?I mean, it's in the name. It's volumetrics, meaning its simulating fog and haze. Well, unfortunately, I won't be able to do this test after all. The game crashes as I try to start it on the PC. I haven't used the PC for anything serious in years and I've had some weird problems with the PC over the years, so I'm gonna say this is much more likely to be a problem with the PC than the game. Thanks for posting all of this stuff Fluffy, it's much appreciated.

Its underwhelming visually and requires some bullshit specs. 6 months delay lmao.Maybe it's because of Youtube compression, but I'm finding the game to be very underwhelming, visually. I didn't expect that to be something I'd concern myself with. I'm sure it looks better in person.
I guess that stream above looks a bit better, outside of some textures.
This is one of those games that can be easily played with randoms because the gameplay does not require a lot of communication but rather just knowing the monster patterns and being aware of your surroundings. How good is this game about playing with randoms? I've never been interested in this series until it hit PC, but I have no one to play with.

I don't know how the whole doom 'n gloom started, but I can assure you there is absolutely nothing to worry about with regards to optimization and performance. From a purely performance perspective, our min spec / rec. spec is generally set on the conservative side to ensure there's enough headroom.
As you pointed out, the game is based on our proprietary MT Framework engine. If you're familiar with any of our other games using this tech, you'll know what to expect in terms of performance profile, tweak options, and high scalability that can be adjusted to fit your needs.
You can go ahead and PM me whatever info you have. I can't promise how much I'll end up doing, but I wouldn't mind taking a look to see what's possible.FluffyQuack Are you gonna work on modding tools if time permits?
I've already looked into the PS4 version a while ago and can hook you up with what little I had time to figure out between work and exams to get you started with an unpacker/repacker. I assume the PC archive format won't be vastly different
E: Just seen your post re modding. Shoot me a PM if you want
I got a review build for the game from Capcom. Maybe they got impressed by my apple-hunting-video I recorded of Dragon's Dogma PC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WHegzVujqEAre you a reviewer or something FluffyQuack ? How did you get to tinker with the game already?
What's the CPU in your 770 PC?Well, unfortunately, I won't be able to do this test after all. The game crashes as I try to start it on the PC. Are you saying graphical fidelity is the only thing that'd cause a bottleneck in a game's performance?
Oh man, you crushed my dreams :'(Well, unfortunately, I won't be able to do this test after all. The game crashes as I try to start it on the PC. Didn't watch the video. What's the issue with load times? Too long?

Yeah, seems like most reviewers are on an SSD.Just to clarify it was from an SSD correct? Didn't catch the stream.

They are long on console, while they're surprisingly fast in these previews. Like, ~45 seconds on console to about 5 on PC.Didn't watch the video. What's the issue with load times? Too long?
There are no good reasons. I started playing the console version when Kulve was out. The DLC only helped cuz I could get the Jho LS.
Weird, I saw some guy on Twitter say he got into the closed beta. Maybe he was just lying.
