I'm not sure, but it seems like the monster that spawns from GL special monster tracks is tied to how many tracks you have to collect. A Flying Wyvern investigation with only three dots will likely be Paolumi, while one with five dots might be Black Diablos.

I like when I get a special track for a "piscine wyvern" and I'm like...there's only one piscine wyvern in the Guiding Lands lol

I tried to make Resentment work in a hammer build with health augment and forgoing a cool drink in hot environments, but unfortunately the hits are too quick for the bonus to be active before each individual strike. I think it would work well on GS though. Those hits are spaced well enough that you have enough time for the heat damage to tick before the next hit lands.

Maybe it's because the entire gang of 4 was underspecced, but me and some SOS'ers were fighting a Brachydios in the Guiding Lands, and it felt like the fight took ages (and was surprisingly hard too). Is that because we were all underspecced for a 4-some party in GL (looking at the difficulty increase for each joined player), and/or is the scaling whack?

Ouh that's clever, I really like that. Let me know if the gs ends up working

The chip damage from blocking heals to a bit fast too anyway, and honestly the lag from blocking a big hit even with something like lance/gunlance without guard just takes too much time

This vid seems to imply that it isn't random... using this exploit only gives you specific lures. (And I just got a temp redo yesterday and can confirm this works - only got Tigrex and Odd lures).

GL monsters in general seem to be stronger than normal. I regularly cart against monsters I'd normally have no trouble with.

It makes sense, given the flavor text for GL material notes the unusual power of the monsters there.

Lures aren't random, though each monster has a set of lures it can give, tried that trick on Radoban and it didn't work for some reason, not sure it was because the Radoban I tried it on was lures in or if they patched it out already. But the trick works on Uragan with crystal bursts in the volcano area. Uragaan give Lavasioth, Barcydios and Fulgur Anja lures.

Did you ensure it was a Tempered Radoban? I saw that vid, tried it on a regular one and failed, but got to the temp levels yesterday and worked like a charm.

Finally unlocking post MR 70 monsters. Any tips for Gold Rathian? My hunts on her are taking forever. I feel like my openings aren't very long as she likes to breakdance more than Zinogre. Thankfully Brute Tigrex is easier than regular Tigrex, less charge spams.

I haven't done any research on this so I'm assuming here..

but the ones below since they are not region specific will they give you any regional random lure ? I might try and look into this but I hate firing SOS on Ruinous Nerg because I get a lot of players just leaving when they see it...

Whereas something like a Gold Rath will it give you a random lure relating to Wildspire or Volcanic etc?

I don't think so. Radoban is a Rotten Vail specific GL monster and he produces Tigrex lures; Tigrex can be lured into any area (like the Fulgar lure you posted).

Poke poke poke, think an attack is coming? R2 + circle. Is the attack still coming but later than you expected? press X next for 360 degree power guard or L2 for claw counter. Repeat. You can also counter roars, tremors, wind.

Add health regen augment at MR100 to recover chip damage and never sheathe.

Is your rath chest at least augmented? You're losing a lot of armor with a rarity 10 piece. And you may be better off get rid of some of your offensive abilities to get more health boost and divine blessing, or maybe put in some evade window.

Why don't you farm teostra for his armor? Master touch is so good for melee weapons. Also teostra is one of the best monsters to fight in iceborne imo.

I managed to cart 5 times against Tempered Black Blos in the GL. I switched from Hammer to Lance when she one-shotted me at full health with just a regular dig, but even then she's a piece of shit to fight. I sure enjoyed those hitboxes on the back of her legs eating 100+ health everytime they hit me.

I was fighting a Tempered Black Diablos in WW yesterday with some randoms and she got stuck after her dig almost everytime. How does that happen?

also and this is dumb but I just learned how to change direction on the foresight slash. I'm crushing shit now lol

Getting 3 regions to 7 in GL can be quite annoying since 1 region keeps deleveling when another one reaches 7. Took me some time to balance it accordingly.
So glad I can just fix the levels now as it makes me feel liberated from handling it with care.

They really should stop EDs from spawning in the GL when you are fighting either Gold Rath or Silver Los. Every other monster is fine since you can just poop them to another area, but Gold Rath and Silver Los will never leave their 'arena' and EDs can't be pooped.

Namielle just spawned as I was fighting Silver Los and my God what a complete disaster.

On the bright side: Silve Los did give me a full MR level. Only two more to go and I can finally hunt Ruiner Nergi.

Man, I wish the game had a way of telling that you've gotten a GL region to 7 and have loaded in and out of it enough that you're clearly trying to spawn tempered elders/Rajang, because this is getting super annoying.

At least with Gold/Silver/Brute you can get their non-GL stuff from Investigations. The only reason to fight tempered Rajang is for the GL exclusive mats.

Tempered Blos is harder than Tempered Kirin IMO. Those leg and tail hit boxes when she gets up off of her dig are cancer. Also I feel like she stuns me after one dig connects each time and then I get KOed by the follow up. I'd rather she just one shot me instead.

wow I'm pretty impressed with that diablos build in GL especially with a fortify jewel

After I karted the Big Bang combo did some decent numbers while in a 4 player GL party on Teo. I should have used a different charm but switched to wide range to heal everyone.

GL Kirin (not tempered) was kind of an asshole, but I did finally get its gold crown. When I walked up to it I knew I'd regret not hunting it, haha.

Now I'm just one hunt away from Ruiner Nerg. Hopefully I hit MR100 soon afterwards and then maybe, just maybe, I can unlock Golden Rath and Silver Los investigations. Apparently they have a much higher spawn rate after MR100?

Wish I could see what each armor piece was giving you. I don't play long sword, but I can tell you your set is decoation starved. Four of your five armor pieces only have one decoration slot. You need slots more than anything. You may even need to prioritize slots over the armor skill on a piece or two if nothing's lining up perfectly.

Since you are running a completely mixed set (no set bonus), you can use any armor piece you want with no worry losing the bonus. Get some slots in there so you can mix in another health boost, and maybe tool specialist or divine blessing. I'm a tool specialist guy but to each his own. At your level those things will keep you alive in the Rajang fight much better than max crit eye will.
