Yeah, I'm not good at timing so I'm probably going to just look for a set with it.HBG and GS can both block them. It's a narrow positioning window, granted.
Probably gonna grind arch zorah.

The Chest seems insane though just in terms of slots. It's got 3-2-2-1 in terms of efficiency, I'm already thinking of getting rid of my Damascus Chest B for all of my CB sets.Nerg Gamma armor is very underwhelming IMO though. The waist is probably the best thing and it only gives a very slight increase in EFR for optimized melee sets.
AT Xeno isn't that tough if you run either Pierce HBG or rapid-fire elemental LBG. So easy to stunlock him during rage mode.AT Nerd isn't too bad once you get his new rotation down. AT Xeno is still THAT asshole.
I'm using that too but I'm not even bothering with Handicraft 4. 10 hits of white is nothing without PP/MT/RS. I think you might get 1 SAED with white assuming you play 100% perfectly or just spend tons of Whetfish+ Fins (which I don't have). For CB, I'm trying out the new optimal build that uses a bit of Nerg Y in it that lets it get 10 hits of white, but without Master's touch that white goes away fast.
There are so many terrible people trying to fight AT KT. I just know I'm never going to get the Kjarr Water CB/Kjar Decar LS if I can't have a single full KT run where someone doesn't cart 3 times before area 4. God dammit.
What also infuriates me is people who don't understand the quest AT ALL. Oh... we're on pursuit level 6 and need 2 more parts to fury... you're right... let's just yolo the head as much as possible to not get that. Oh... you joined a P1 quest with one other person? Well, I think it's safe to say we aren't breaking the horns... let's just get tracks? No? You want to piss her off and get carted by yourself? Great.
More than once I have resorted to sleep bombing, farcastering out, and coming back to sleep bomb him again (repeat as necessary). That rage when he wakes up in the final room is once again not to be underestimated.
I got to find a good fucking video guide on AT Nerg or something becuase I barely beat him once with the hammer and its been a goddamn nightmare ever since.
This isn't fun, its stressing me out and making me feel like I'm just wasting my time when I go 30-40 minutes only to cart empty handed. Screw this hunt.
Anyone got a screenshot of the AT Nerg Layered armor ? I can't seem to find any and I'm seriously considering skipping because after a full 6 hours over the weekend I'm about done with trying to clear him solo or with a group. Skills look okay but nothing to write home for?
Is there any fight to grind for Tenderizer jewels specifically, or solid Weakness Exploit build? Right now I'm using either the Dragon Eyepatch or Dante's Pants to get a double rank, but I'm loathe to give up my charm or a second subpar armor slot for just one more rank of it.
I'll do you one better:
Some general tips for hammer. Phase 2 much much harder to deal with since you lose a lot of openings and the new attack is really punishing. Save the rock falls in area 1 for when phase 2 starts (assuming you are able to push him to phase 2 in area 1). Sheathing and diving is safe for the black spike dive bomb unless the fight goes on too long (nergi's speed increases by a small stacking percentage every time he roars in phase 2). Tremor 1 is useful to avoid the tremor from the new attack. Rolling to the right when he does it is the best way to deal with it, and you can follow up with a level 2 charge attack or a level 1+backswing if you are quick enough. One of the better openings in phase 2 is the big slow right paw slam that he usually does after he knocks you down. If you get into position fast enough, you can get a full triangle combo on the left leg, or a level 1 + backswing + triangle 1 on the head. Big bang when you get a white spike break, unless you are a little slow getting to the head in phase 2. If you are slow, just go for a triangle combo into level 1 + backswing.I got to find a good fucking video guide on AT Nerg or something becuase I barely beat him once with the hammer and its been a goddamn nightmare ever since.

I feel like if you aren't using a weapon with a good shield or a move with built-in iframes (like LS), then you can't just run a full DPS build like normal unless you're so insane at the game that you can still chain trip Nerg despite the higher break values.
Layered armor is Ryu.
There is no way to grind for specific jewels. Both "The Greatest Jaggras" and "The Name is Lavasioth" event quests currently up (till Thurs) offer the best grind for decos.
You can totally change them from camp.I wish this game let you have two weapons equipped at the same time or at least let you change them from the camp, I really can't decide between the longsword and the hammer :p
The camp in the open world? Maybe I'm blind but I don't see where
Go up to the entrance to the tent and press your confirmation button of choice (X/O or A). You can restock items and switch up your gear in there. The camp in the open world? Maybe I'm blind but I don't see where
KT stinks a lot, but worse than Zorah Magdoros? cmon

Capcom started listening to the hardcore veteran MH community again when designing the DLC. That community said: "The game is too easy, make it haaaaarder!"Fucked up how they've added 5 monsters (KT, Luna, Jho, Leshen and Behemoth) but only Luna and Jho are at all fun to fight. I hope the Iceborne era eschews crossovers in favour of monsters that fit.
Idk, I think ATs are good overall. Some are garbage, some are improvements. Behemoth and Leshen do feel like overcorrections to community opinions, but ATs aren't really anything new for the series. The games have always had very difficult event versions of monsters released as DLC, and I don't think they will suddenly stop doing that.Capcom started listening to the hardcore veteran MH community again when designing the DLC. So they did, and the results have mostly been shitty. AT monsters suck, Behemoth is the worst fight I've ever experienced in an MH game, etc.
I hope that Iceborne mimics the excellent balance of the base game's story. Anything and everything you can do after Xeno really isn't fun, interesting or rewarding.
People have modded in the quest since the quest data files are all there. It's not officially released for PC until June 7 I believe.Since the PC thread kinda died I'll ask here - is AT Nerg out on PC yet? I thought people were already doing it but I can't seem to find it?
No official date for AT Nergigante on PC that I know of. Capcom probably has a deal with Sony so that all new content comes first on console.Since the PC thread kinda died I'll ask here - is AT Nerg out on PC yet? I thought people were already doing it but I can't seem to find it?
Turf war RNG is one of the more frustrating things about this quest. You shouldn't have to lose out on 2.6k free damage just because he was preoccupied the moment kushala or teo comes in. The triggers for turf wars are too finicky and I hope they address that in iceborne to make things more consistent. The balance of the AT fights is a bit weird.
For my first AT Nergigante I tried to solo. Teostra refused to do the turf war because I was in the middle of a mount when he entered the area and I ended timing out (maybe I played too conservatively).
Immediately after that I tried a tempered Nergigante just to check with exactly the same equipment and the quest didn't last 10 minutes.

The #1 thing I've heard to do for AT Nerg is to not mount him in the second area. It causes so many problems. Fucking all the ATs in Elder's Recess have this exact same problem and Capcom never bothered to do anything about it.The balance of the AT fights is a bit weird.

Yeah, in later multiplayer attempts it has been kind of weird how you have 4 people just barely engaging Nergigante once he moves to the second area waiting for the turf war to successfully trigger and be done with it.The #1 thing I've heard to do for AT Nerg is to not mount him in the second area. You'd think they'd at least make the Turf Wars happen in a zone where it isn't really easy to get mounts.
Those extra-difficult event monsters usually were more interesting than "elder dragons with buffed stats" though.Idk, I think ATs are good overall. Some are garbage, some are improvements. No, that's literally what they were. I'm referring to things like event Brachy in 3U, super valstrax in GU, etc. They didn't even have any AI changes, so technically they went the extra mile in world. Those extra-difficult event monsters usually were more interesting than "elder dragons with buffed stats" though.
