Dunno if anybody else was confused by that title, but those are PS4s sold, not copies for the PS4 sold. The Xbox One didn't suddenly become popular in Japan overnight.

Very good for a PS4 game, obviously much lower than the 3DS main entries.

PS4 was higher than I expected.

A lot more hardware than I predicted, but I was almost on the money regarding FW sales. My hardware prediction was thrown off because they hadn't announced bundles yet.

This is a fantastic debut. With typical legs for the franchise it could reach 2.5 million units lifetime

Fantastic result and likely sold well digitally as well. 2 million should be a shoe in. Now to see if it has a long lasting impact on HW sales, I think it will provide a decent boost.

For reference someone should post earlier title numbers.
I have a feeling digital is bit higher this time as game was apparently sold out in many stores, amazing start for the game and good boost for PS4.

Sales are estimated to be more than two million including digital.

Monster Hunter: World is also the top PS4 game ever in total sales.

And PS4 hardware had its second highest week in sales ever (highest was release week).

Holy shit. Coupled with the huge gains for the franchise in the West and this move frankly was damn smart by Capcom.

That's great without any ifs and buts. Obviously not as high as something like MH4, but close enough for comfort. It's probably not going to have the same kind of legs, though.

It's not the best selling first week for Monster Hunter, but it's by far the best selling opening for a console MH game. It absolutely crushed first week sales of Tri.

Those are strong sales, no digital shown so it's obviously higher. It would appear the masses don't care if their Monster Hunter is on console or Portable devices, it still sells either way...

Very good results for a console game. This makes it the second best selling PS4 game in Japan, correct? I could easily see it being the best selling game.

I don't think anyone expected this to do 3DS or PSP numbers, but that's not bad, particularly since it sounds like their numbers are good in Western markets.

MH on 3DS always has high digital because of low stock at launch, it's a constant for MH.

Fantastic sales numbers for both hardware and software. With digital included it must be approaching 1.5 million.
