IIRC hasn't no MK game made it to Japan due to the level of Violence? I know even Japanese-native games like Nioh had to remove a lot of the gore and such for it's release in Japan.
Just did, Towers of Time and the Krypt are then unavailable, Story Mode and Klassic Towers are still available.

I thought someone said the skins were locked but you could still see them, just can't use them.

I can only see or select one skin per character and then one variation of that same skin. You can see it here in the character select screen for Shao Kahn:

The guy on reddit who first leaked Frost I think went into the character customisation menu and previewed the skins there. Maybe try looking in there and see if it lets you preview the skins and gear.

That's bizarre. I've seen the pics on reddit that show off the skins but with a padlock icon on them.

Hit R1 to tab over to kosmetics that's where they are.
Yeah, try going in there and looking at the skin select screen Tyaren . I swear it should let you look at all the skins a character has.

You don't need to take picture of every colour variant, just the unique skin. Most skins have like 4 or 5 colour alts.

I know, I'm just taking photos of the unique ones. ;) There are about 5-7 for every character. They are often kinda similar to eachother though.
Lol, Kano has one called "Pretty in Ink", He's shirtless, hairless chest and covered in tattoos. Cute ones, not really badass ones.
The Krypt looks great! I hope there is post release stuff for it. Maybe something that will allow you to use fighters to progress through it.
They said they're open to adding it in the future but nothing so far.
