I think its a step too far to immunize the female NPC's in the game. Cause that is a rabbit hole of asking why anything is able to be attacked in a game where freedom is the biggest draw. The issue should be those who choose to glorify said actions being held to account

I'm not saying make all female NPCs immune to violence. What I am saying is that if an NPC male/female not tied to the central story plot identifies as a real world civil rights ideology or movement it should be best not to allow them to get killed.

EDIT: This goes for all games that push for real life realism. Not just R* games

Guy and the people who follow him seem like huge pieces of shit to be profiting on content like this.

That said, YouTube played their hand in this by constantly promoting this fuck's videos all the time. Constantly saw this video recommended for me for some reason. This led to that one video of punching a feminist to become many videos on the subject. They're as much to blame here.

Due to that, he shouldn't have gotten banned in the first place. Should have gave him a warning first if anything.

Why would they include this kind of characters then? The only answer devs will come up with is to remove these characters altogether.

Let me guess, the owner of this channel is white?
The same way you know that you can pin a negative situation on race, as long as the person is white,
is the same way Shirrako knows he can upload targeted violence toward feminist/women, as long as it's in a video game.

Everyone knows their boundaries.

God forbid this thread was about someone who died from a drive-by shooting, & you posted "Let me guess, the shooters were black?"
You would never post such a comment, because you know your boundaries.

Youtube came out and said his videos don't violate TOS. That means he's within HIS boundaries to upload these videos.
Let the guy live.

I'm arguing that if someone didn't get triggered because of a dumb video, this guy wouldn't have had a tenth of the views he has right now.
I'm sure youtube's well documented fucked up algorithm has nothing to do with it.

Why are RobinGaming videos not allowed here?
Because he's a piece of garbage who makes disingenuous arguments and is bothered by things like ND being openly and unapologetically progressive.

A ban here, a ban there, will do nothing to stop the spread of hateful ideas or racist or discriminatory ideas. You cannot just plug a hole in a a sinking ship with a thousand holes and expect it to float
Tell that to Richard Spender, Milo, and Alex Jones. Deplatforming works.

I got recommended his videos after watching Easy Allies videos on RDR2. The polar fucking opposite of this bigoted prick.
"NOPE, YOU GOT TRIGGERED LOL THAT'S WHY THE VIDEOS GOT POPULAR LELEL"

It's so bizarre that people even think the attention had anything to do with it. If it did, you'd think his twitter and other social media platforms would see a commensurate boost. He piggybacked off youtubes shit algorithms and the most popular entertainment product launch in HISTORY to use this as a soundboard.

It has nothing to do with if he was deplatformed or not that boosted his #'s. But I can say for certainty that if his channel is shut down those 500K people don't magically come back.

The concept of deplatforming isn't something i agree with cause its a capitulation to authoritarianism. (not that constitutional rights mattered after the patriot act got passed)

Something we are having tons of problems with on the right in government right now. but i'm not going to shed a tear if i never hear from pissants like Shirrako again. Immediately blocked after all this nonsense

He's an alt right douche. He was blocked when he started making those "Naughty Dog has a social justice warrior agenda" videos, but i stopped following him years back, cause he basically came out and said it in a video clear as day that he didn't believe in "that whole social justice, feminist stuff".

I don't get how I'm blocking Youtubers and they are still getting recommended on my feed.

Its the same reason i still get pragerU ads for "how socialism destroyed brazil" when i am trying to look up certain leftist politicians on youtube despite actually turning off targeted ads entirely. Youtube's algorithm only cares about two things, popular search terms and ad revenue. And they are getting slammed with right wing ad spending these days

Constitutional rights?
Patriot Act?

Do you think there is a US Department of Memes that decides who to ban from Youtube and Twitter? Does the Secretary of Shitposting approve a set of regulations regarding acceptable speech on social media?

Deplatforming is private organizations refusing to give a microphone to hate speech. It has nothing to do with the first amendment.

Capitulation to authoritarianism? In what way? Be specific.

Google is a private company. But like the NFL protest, its about the principle of free speech, even if they have the legal right to shut down voices.

I just don't trust any private company with who and what to censor based on their own personal criteria, when they have such a huge amount of power regarding societal voices.

I thought I didn't deactivate or reject targeted ads properly, but seeing that you still get them too is just bullshit. Youtube and Google are the worst.

If I own a coffee shop with an open mic night and someone comes in and starts screaming racist slurs at other patrons am I obligated to continue to provide them a platform for the sake of free speech or am I able to ban them from my shop and from future open mic nights because I find their actions reprehensible and do not wish to provide them with a venue to spread their bile?

I just go by the ALCU's guidelines and the decisions the supreme court have already made on the situation. I understand what your saying, but i don't think its an actual solution to combat hate speech. Its not actually fighting against hate, its driving it underground and allowing it to fester.

Again, i perfectly understand your view, and i am not trying to convince anyone. Its just my personal view.

I know that it won't change their views. That's not my goal. Forcing it underground is a good thing - the alternative of letting it remain in the light is far worse.

To me saying what he does promotes violence against women is the same lie people spout saying that CoD/battlefield games promote war etc. It's fictional game. I love the joker in a movie but I would hate him in real life. Is what he is doing juvenile and stupid? Yes, but banning is not the right call.

Yeah, I go out of my way to specifically block / mark "not interested" on videos from alt right fuckwads and Youtube just keeps on recommending them.

One of this shitheel's videos for RDR2 ended up on my recommended videos list despite my efforts.

So, I went on YouTube earlier looking for a RDR2 video and I typed "rdr2" into youtube and the first auto complete result was "rdr2 feminist." That tells you how many people are searching for this fuckface's video.

It isn't because of my "viewing history" either as I have zero interest in watching the videos and giving the bastard views.

Do gamers ask that about the inclusion of children NPCs? No. Because most everyone can agree on that allowing players to execute kids by Alligator feeding is shitty. Including studios that don their realism badge as a pride of honor. So why can't the same be said for NPCs that represent critically important civil rights movements?

No. That's not the same, at all.

He was targeting this specific NPC because of what she was saying and the progressive ideas she beheld. In COD/BF, you are not put in the role of a misogynist wanting to kill feminists because they annoy you.

Use your brains and eyes. This dude's a shitheel and doesn't need to be defended. He's already posted a video called "Beating up a gay vampire" in the past 8 hours.

To be fair, it's very likely that Google is suggesting that due to your browsing/watch history.

I think its better to publicly humiliate horrible ideas and viewpoints, and show to everyone clearly why they should not be followed. As opposed to simply saying "things are bad cause they are bad and so we will simply ban from speaking about them".

In my opinion, the reason racism and sexism and homophobia is so attractive to impressionable young white men today is because they have grown up being told that its bad and the taboo angle of not being able to publicly say horrible things without fear of "social backlash" has put the "anti PC culture" back on the map and made it stronger than ever. Fighting the fascists and the alt right in the open is better than allowing them to congregate and gain strength in secret on the internet and where minorities cant hear(which they do anyways fair enough).

Maybe y'all should supporting a game that even allows you to do this?
i'm not a fan of games that let you indiscriminately kill people in general, tbqh. you can't kill children as far as i know, so there's clearly a line even with fictional characters, but killing adults is fine? why? aren't they all just fictional?

(and no, i'm not trying to make a "if you kill people in a video game you'll kill people irl!!" point, so don't even bother)

Nope. Didn't give the scumbag a single view.
YouTube is recommending it based on what you watched and not necessarily who you watch. A video about feminist/feminism, Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar, violence, PS4, Xbox, etc. I just right now did a search for PS4 and his Hitman 2 videos were in my search results.

Yeah, YouTube's recommendation system is shitty. But I think the autocomplete results are popularity based, at least on my TVs YouTube app. Just going into search without typing anything displays a bunch of keywords which are popular and relevant to the day, and when you start typing anything it seems to autocomplete the most popular results.

Anyone who sees one of his videos should immediately report it, for a couple reasons

1) It DOES break YouTube rules whether or not they admit it
2) Their algorithm will strike or limit the videos based on volume of reports because you know a human being never looks at these things

The issue is not the video content necessarily. It's that he specifically titled the video 'Red Dead Redemption 2 - Beating Up Annoying Feminist'. This would be like me uploading a video of GTA San Andreas where I am running over some of the Ballas gang and titling the video 'GTA San Andreas - Running Over Annoying Black People'.

It's very obvious what he was doing and who he was hoping to cater to.

Yeah I blocked so many of these fools like ReviewTechUSA, The Quartering, Mundane Matt and recently Grace Randolph and now I get more of their videos than ever before. Even ones from years ago they're having a laugh.
