I give you the theatrical trailer for The Phantom Menace-
- Maybe ... one shot of Anakin running?
- One shot of Jar Jar
Rest is all battle scenes, cool lightsaber fights, space battles:

Also, I don't like what Lucas did with Portman's voice. Sounded a lot better in this trailer.

was able to go hide that Tony Stark was right and cap broke up the avengers and caused the killing of half the universe while housing Tony's parent's murderer.

The real villain of the MCU

Batman v Superman trailers all looked like shit

This however

song intro gets me every time, i thought it was the same as the song from Gladiator, but its just the same singer

On Topic: im gonna go with Rathtar's in TFA, they're the worst part of the movie and im pretty sure they're not in the trailers

Does a really good job hiding the fact that the best character dies in the first act.

Snyder actually got me hoping for just a little bit in July 2012.

Terminator Salvation featured a bunch of badass shit in the trailer, which was actually all the badass shit in the entire movie. Literally everything not in the trailer was terrible.

The Force Awakens trailer. The greatest trailer ever made and completely hides that it's a derivative remake of ANH.

Man of Steel trailer making us think we was about to get TDK version of Superman films.

Prometheus trailer fooling everyone that we'd get a good movie.

While I liked The Last Jedi, I completely agree that the casino planet was the worst part of it. The people who made this trailer knew it too.

That trailer was my immediate thought, too. Still enjoyed the movie, but I did feel it was a lot different and somewhat worse than the impression the trailers gave me ahead of seeing it.

But, also:

Post-Avengers, feels kinda high-stakes in this trailer with all these quotes about desperation and world-ending stuff. Final movie? Levity is kinda disruptively present a lot of the time (and I'm someone who doesn't think MCU quippy humor is bad), the villain really sucks, and... well... I dunno, the actual film just feels so much different to watch than this trailer leads on.

Suicide Squad: the thread.

When your trailers are so effective that your shitty movie needs to be hastily reworked into an even shittier movie just to make it match.

I think you really missed the point of the ending of that film and it's follow-ups.

Nothing to do with it being a bad movie, but the Hereditary trailers gave off a way different impression of what that movie was going to be about compared with the real thing.

Every trailer for a musical that tries its hardest to cover that there is some singing in the film.

Of course trailers are gonna show you the best bits thats what they are ads, look at Rogue One, I like that movie but the Trailers even included scenes which weren't in the actual movie such as the tie fighter flying up to Jyn when she is on the platform etc

I think that's because they actually changed those scenes after the trailer was out. There was one shot they specifically shot for the trailer though. The one of her in a hallway with the lights turning on.

I remember not being particularly hot on the idea of another Matrix film, but this trailer won me over. The final film is just the three big action scenes featured heavily in the trailer with an hour and a half of filler. No resolution or climax and the film just kind of awkwardly stops as the sequel was going to release six months later(!) to finish the story (which was an even worse film, but that's another story).
