They need to fire this guy already.

Matthews has guest hosted Limbaugh's white nationalist radio show before.

Um. . . I think he was just using an example from history of an "upset," when it is difficult for people to recognize that it's "over." He seems to be agreeing with something Carville said about the nomination being "over," which is an upset that the Biden camp won't want to admit.

I think it is very disingenuous to say he compared Bernie to a Nazi.

Surely there are a thousand better examples of an "upset" that he could have used.

He suggested that if Bernie wins he's scared he'll be rounded up and shot in Central Park.

I take so much joy in watching this guy lose his mind and show his true colors, hard to see the liberal media begin to go Sean Hannity though

Also, out of all the comparisons he could have made, why did he have to pick the Nazis?

Sure, Matthews is a moron, but saying he called Sanders a Nazi is a stretch.
Again, he said that he thinks Sanders will order him to be executed. He's been doing this for weeks now. He's totally lost the plot.

I didn't notice that in the clip in the OP. Where was that suggestion? Did I miss something?

I agree that would be a moronic thing to say, if he said it, but it's still not calling Sanders a Nazi.

He compared Bernie steamrollering his way to Milwaukee to the Nazi invasion of France and said he's worried Bernie will order him to be executed if he wins. At some point whether or not he's directly calling Bernie a Nazi or not is a distinction without a difference. He's been clearly claiming for weeks now that a Bernie victory risks him becoming a victim of political violence. He's totally lost the plot.

Chris Matthews has a $5MM/annual salary. There's a reason why he would prefer a dishrag Democrat or a continued Trump presidency over Sanders.

He's shook. Good.

Democratic socialism isn't nazism. It isn't my thing, but I'll vote for Sanders because he's an honest politician with a lot of other policies I agree with and honestly what can he do to capitalism with the Senate or hell even the House

I dunno. I think he just wanted a phrase that was a historical reference and made a bad choice. It's getting blown out of proportion. He's just not very bright.

Clearly, if he's saying Carville is "damn smart" when he's probably the last person you'd want political advice from.

If this was just one instance, maybe you'd be right, but he's made comparisons between Sanders campaign and the Nazi party before. Dude is absolutely unhinged.

The clip they are talking about:

Thanks. I was genuinely confused.

Look I'm not defending Matthews, he's clearly an idiot, but this is a thread about him calling Sanders a Nazi. Which he did not do based on the clip (unless I am completely misinterpreting his remarks). He used a really dumb example of "knowing when it's over" but he did not call Sanders a Nazi, just like he was not calling Biden a Frenchman. He was trying to sound smart by citing history and did the opposite.

There's enough stupidity and racism in the world, we don't need to manufacture instances, no matter how enjoyable playing victim may feel.

Are people really that scared of Bernie winning? My mom is freaking out thinking we will lose to Trump if he wins. I think she's wrong.

He used the comparison of the Nazi invasion of France and has been having a prolonged meltdown for the past two weeks claiming Bernie might murder him. It's reasonable to conclude he thinks Sanders is some kind of fascist.

I'm sure he's scared of Sanders, just like everyone who earned some money is, but that doesn't mean he's saying Sanders is a Nazi. Huge stretch imo, especially considering Sanders's religion.

OK, so your position is that he equated Bernie's victory to a Nazi victory and thinks Bernie might order him killed, but he's not saying he's any kind of fascist or anything?

Matthews is a hack. Really hate that he is always all over MSNBCs coverage. Otherwise they are pretty damn reasonable. Way better than anything on CNN or Fox.

He was comparing the French army to the Democratic Establishment.

Chris is annoying, but he certainly isn't calling Bernie a Nazi, nor his followers a blitzkrieg.

This is overblown.
