Okay, I couldn't find anything suggesting that the moms would be watching the porn with their kids simultaneously- that would take the awkwardness level to hitherto unknown height.
that information is not in this article but in other articles on the subject

https://metro.co.uk/2019/03/11/mum-...-show-porn-film-created-teenage-kids-8884969/

In the third episode of the series, the mums' porn film will be screened at a viewing party for their friends, family and some of their children. We're not sure how that's gonna go down with their kids…

Does she think that the only kind of porn that exists is rape porn? Does she not know that its the fucking internet, there is every kind of porn you could want. What she is making already exists, along with thousands of other options as well. This is the dumbest thing ever.
Watching porn with your kids is very creepy and sounds like something that could be mentally and emotionally damaging/confusing to a young developing person. That sounds like a very unhealthy thing to do. Educate yes, but what these mothers are trying to do sounds like a bad idea all around, not to mention it's pointless since what she is after already exists by the mountain loads. There is plenty of simple straightforward healthy porn videos all over the place. Why is she wasting everyone's time and traumatizing her kids?

Given how long the waiting list for free therapy under this shitty government is because they're underfunding universal healthcare, hope the parents have the money to pay for private therapists.

"Together they will produce their own 12-minute porn film that they feel gives a realistic portrayal of sex"

12 minutes sure is more realistic. They've got that part right!

Wow... This is one of the dumbest ideas I have ever seen.

I understand the importance of teaching that porn does not represent reality, but to make your own and watch it with your kids... This achieves nothing (except a lifetime therapy for the kids).

The movie is probably gonna suck, this is completely awkward and really inappropriate. What the hell are they doing?

Nerds: Let's watch a videogame conference!

Mums: Let's watch porn, kids!

These awkward high concept reality shows Channel 4 produces definitely warrant a curious watch. Let's be honest, half the nation still gonna watch this.

Honestly this sounds like gross intrusion of privacy. Let these kids search what they want within legal bounds, then leave them on thier own, they'll figure it out. If they're so worried curate a selection of search terms and that's it.

The thought of a Father sitting down with his daughter to show her how to give/receive satisfying head is bordering on traumatic.

Sorry but where did that find that porn that apparently made them "physically sick"? And rape porn? You'd have to dig deep to find that on the usual sites. More like the producers found the most abhorrent porn they could find on Pornhub, something like CNC, bondage etc I can only guess and shown it to gullible mothers who would assume that's 90% of these porn sites.
Jeez, Channel 4 some of the shit you show 😂

I think people are still way too prudish towards sex (especially in America) and I would like to see more media with positive/healthy views towards sex, but this is probably the worst/most uncomfortable way to go about it. I mean... what?

Just explain to them that porn sex isn't necessarily reflective of real life sex, my god. This is nothing that a simple talk can't fix.

What you watch porn wise isn't necessarily indicative of what you'd be into in real life, sometimes porn just takes you to weird places, and that's fine.

Watching porn with my mom? Just fucking kill me.

Jesus I had to reread the OP like 3 times before I realized that the mum's weren't actually starring in the porn videos. Not like it's much better.

I can see the message they are trying to get across with this but this is a supremely cringey and weird way to do it

The intentions are good, the methods seem poorly thought out here. Like the vast majority of porn does not portray healthy or realistic sex, and consuming a lot of porn can absolutely be damaging for teenagers especially.

Having more realistic, compassionate, less exploitative porn is a good thing. So is having your teenager see a therapist if you are worried about their porn consumption. This idea though? Not good, and also pretty exploitative given that it is a reality TV show.

I was thinking...okay... Non-violent porn already exists, but whatever, this is fine. No harm no foul. Then I got to the part where they are having a viewing party with their children....uh...wtf...nope.

I was ready to just laugh at the awkwardness of this, but I'm actually with the positive message of a healthy relationship to sex. It's a good idea, and an interesting perspective on porn.

However, the viewing party is unnecessary viewer bait.

Making family friendly porn is maybe a good idea? but watching it with your family definitely is not.
Yeahhhhhh, this. Having more mothers direct porn is a nice step in shifting the cukture wich could mean a significant overall cultural change, but why the hell are the moms trying to watch it with their kids?

It's barefaced exploitation disguised as good intentions.

So peak Channel 4, as somebody else said.
