Yes it was.
This arc has been the worst. This shit could be improved tenfold if you removed at least half of the horrifically disruptive flashbacks the show keeps shoving in our faces. No, I don't need to know every detail of everyone's personal history jesuschrist.
At least it's over now.
I watched last week's episode again to see if I'd enjoy it better a second time, and I suppose I did but I still didn't really find it exciting.
I read in it like a day and I feel like I had a better experience with it than people who were waiting week to week.I swear read the Overhaul arc over a few days is such better than having to wait for the chapters to release
This character is just pathetic.I watched last week's episode again to see if I'd enjoy it better a second time, and I suppose I did but I still didn't really find it exciting. *sighs* I liked this week's episode more, or at least enjoyed it more? I didn't find much to be disappointed with here, lol. One tiny little thing I liked a lot was the way most faces were drawn this week. They were a lot better and there were even a couple of times where the faces were downright cute.
My only issue is probably how they somehow made this scene even lamer:
Like, I wouldn't have minded it if they didn't have Uravity say "Gunhead Martial Arts!" (the manga had her not say anything) because it gives me the impression that she's not owning her own skills and techniques? Like, yes, you learned that from Gunhead but that's martial arts and it doesn't necessarily belong to any one person and you're supposed to make it your own and... I don't know, it's a minor thing, but it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Oh, and I was also very disappointed with Overhaul's scream at the end of the highway scene. The manga made it seem more horrifying so I was hoping for some blood curdling scream full of anguish. Also, the entire scene felt much shorter than I remembered? Aside from taking out Spinner's "GRAND THEFT AUTO!!" scene, though, I'm not sure if they removed anything else. Still, pretty happy with it overall. Just glad to see Dabi again after so long, haha.
Those aside, like I said, I enjoyed the episode. Nighteye's deathbed scene was really heartbreaking and they did a wonderful job adapting it for the anime. The manga got me emotional as well, but the voice acting (particularly from Mirio) really sold the emotions here.
My only issue is probably how they somehow made this scene even lamer:
There's nothing there that isn't already present in the anime?
i came to the same conclusion after this part in the manga too. Horikoshi seems to have more fun when writing them too imo. After this episode I'm coming to the conclusion that I actually like the League as a group more than any time the Heroes are grouped together.
That's a shame, last week's episode is the highlight of the arc for me. I've rewatched it more than I thought I would. Ah well, different strokes.I watched last week's episode again to see if I'd enjoy it better a second time, and I suppose I did but I still didn't really find it exciting. *sighs*
Hey, yeah! They never did adapt that scene of Stain seeing AfO being wheeled into Tartarus last seasonIt's really starting to annoy me. I will for the life of me never understand why they cut the whole scene in Season 3 where All for One is brought to Tartarus and we learn just how handicapped the man was, with bonus Stain scene. That along with a certain scene immediately following the Sports Festival finale are probably the most glaring cuts.
I also don't get why they've been so reluctant with the gore after going so hard with Magne's death scene. I've already seen a number of people that didn't realize Dabi killed Snatch. Quite a few bizarre decisions this season.
That said, they did a really great job with Nighteye's death this episode. Hit way harder than in the manga, with special kudos to the voice actors. And the Highway scene is such a great moment in the story regardless.
Put some respect on these great lines Bones.
I understand that GTA may have been a copyright thing but Spinner's whole explanation for how he learned to drive was hilarious and should've stayed.
His hair is supposed to be pure white, I don't get why the anime is keeps making it blueShiggy's design is so bad that even a cool villian moment for him still crashes to the ground for me because he looks horrible 24-7. Change his hair. Change the jet black outfit. Give him some style. Please.

I went back to check this since I love that part and it's still in, they just picked a horribly dull translation for it.some Shigaraki lines mocking Overhaul for having no more fingers,
Because one-to-one panels never translate well to the anime. Everytime they try it doesnt translate well. They made it work in the manga, not sure why the anime didn't have this shot
Half of these werent cut lines but different translations tho. Also i am pretty sure some of these lines you mention arent even from the official translationThey cut good moments like Kirishima saying mission cleared, Spinner saying he got his driving skills from Video Games, Spinner yelling Grand theft Auto while driving recklessly, some Shigaraki lines mocking Overhaul for having no more fingers, dialogue confirming the Sand hero is dead, Kirishima saying "I'm a mummy" while we see him fully wrapped up
But they kept the pointless Overhaul flashbacks :(
Sure though I imagine that in this case a one-to-one panel would've been more interesting than the boring shot they used here.Because one-to-one panels never translate well to the anime. Everytime they try it doesnt translate well.
Could it be? Could. But I prefer they not trying to rely to much on the manga panels.Sure though I imagine that in this case a one-to-one panel would've been more interesting than the boring shot they used here.
I'd agree if they actually tried to be imaginative. Here they just replaced this reveal of the League of Villains popping up with some uninteresting still shots. The tone pretty much just felt like "oh, the League is here I guess".Could it be? Could. But I prefer they not trying to rely to much on the manga panels.
