Great to see it done, and it's really well made. I honestly never thought it would be finished.
That Rarity and Sweetie Belle song is the first one I straight up don't recognize. Well, there are others I didn't actually listen to before, like "Magic", "Rainbow Factory", and "Loyalty" but I could tell what they were. Oh, I don't recognize "Lost on the Moon" either.
+1 for having Twilight eat that bird

Something something ending the year the show ended with the beginning.
I was asking for suggestions for the stream and completely forgot we were watching Fushigi Yuugi. I'd say that's a sign to drop it. I was interested in checking out the "new" Sailor Moon dub for years but never got around to it, so the stream's probably the only way I'd ever actually check it out.
Now Sailor Moon does have a lot of filler, and episode 2 is a filler episode. I'm not opposed to streaming filler for this show, but I'd prefer to do that only after the girls gather. I'll show episode 2 just because I assume there's a bit more establishment of the formula there, but next week (if we continue) I'll jump ahead to episodes 8 and 10 (Ami and Rei's introductions). After that... well actually, the filler episode titles after their introductions sound fun, so maybe I'll go filler heavy once we have three girls.

People took a while to show up. I bought time with songs, but I decided to play the MLP episodes regardless to keep things on schedule, and because everyone had already seen the first MLP episodes.
It was interesting watching the first two episodes again. One thing that sticks out to me is how much music only shows up in this story, including several BGM versions of the MLP theme. I hadn't even noticed it playing during Rarity's introduction before. I found the first episode more interesting than the second, for how it introduces all the characters. Fluttershy's introduction is still fantastically handled; Rainbow's is strange for how giggly she is. The second episode, on the other hand, has neat moments like the manticore encounter, but also has Nightmare Moon's other less explicable plans.
By the time She-Ra started, there was only one person in the stream, which is why I was still buying time with songs after the second episode of that. The episodes were good, with lots of flashbacks and friendship moments with Adora and Catra which really felt gayer than "Princess Prom" to me. The second episode features hacking of the entire planet.
With time successfully bought, we had more people once Sailor Moon started. It's interesting, you'd think it would take more adjustment after being used to the old Dic dub, but no, I got right into the new Viz voices. Given that none of the, well, good supporting cast is here yet, the episodes were enjoyable enough, though the climax of the second episode is basically the same as the first episode. I'll jump ahead to Ami and Rei's introduction, so we don't just get Usagi doing the same thing over and over.
Of course, I absolutely had to include the Sailor Says videos. Serena was super drunk in the second one.

There aren't many moments in TV that have blown my mind quite as much as She-Ra's understated circuitry aesthetic suddenly making the jump from quirky background detail to being the linchpin of the entire plot.

The Good Place's season premiere didn't cover quite what I remembered, but it was still interesting seeing things from the perspective of the demons. People enjoyed the more on-the-nose torments.
And then there was The Guardian Code. No one enjoyed these, but that's the point, really. I had forgotten just how bad all the old VAs' acting was in episode 10. Dot's VA at least is still active, and played Trixie and Chrysalis in FiM, so her bad acting here is definitely due to bad direction. The second episode featured THE SOURCEROR, with rather inept attempts at hacking. Also after being reintroduced, Hexadecimal is punted back onto the bus, for a return toward the end of the second season. Bad acting from characters I don't care about is better than bad acting from characters I do, at least, and there was a lot of fun bad acting in this one.
I don't expect I'll stream more episodes (maybe more next year?), but there are some dumb sounding ones coming up.

Surprised this story took the route it did. Would have liked more of Nightmare Rarity and Midnight Sparkle one-upping each other, but that would have been difficult without getting into comedy territory, I suppose. Given the ending, I would have liked more focus on the bad things that the two did, and what they feel about them, hinting more at the conflicts inside them. Still, it's good.

"Sisterhooves Social" is still great. I was surprised by just how squeaky Sweetie Belle was in this episode; her voice really has changed a lot over the years. This remains the only speaking appearance of Rarity's parents, unfortunately.
"Brotherhooves Social" is an underrated episode, and people watching the stream liked it.
She-Ra featured a friendship rainbow blast, and then with season 2, a complete personality shift for Frosta. The episodes were good.
Sailor Moon was still clearly in the beginning phases, but getting other characters on board should make things a bit more fun now. Rei's intro episode had a truly absurd villain plot with multiple flying buses going into another dimension. Thankfully Tuxedo Mask is actually helpful here and drives the flying buses back.
Also, you seriously need to watch that last Sailor Says.

"Sisterhooves Social" is still great. I was surprised by just how squeaky Sweetie Belle was in this episode; her voice really has changed a lot over the years. This remains the only speaking appearance of Rarity's parents, unfortunately.
"Brotherhooves Social" is an underrated episode, and people watching the stream liked it.
She-Ra featured a friendship rainbow blast, and then with season 2, a complete personality shift for Frosta. The episodes were good.
Sailor Moon was still clearly in the beginning phases, but getting other characters on board should make things a bit more fun now. Rei's intro episode had a truly absurd villain plot with multiple flying buses going into another dimension. Thankfully Tuxedo Mask is actually helpful here and drives the flying buses back.
Also, you seriously need to watch that last Sailor Says.

This issue has the framing story of Apple Bloom and Applejack getting caught in a giant spider web like idiots and Applejack telling her sister the story of one other time she was scared. One time, Applejack fell into a well, and was scared of swimming after that. Big Mac got into trouble, so Applejack faced her faces and swam out to rescue him. Then, the framing device is resolved when Apple Bloom shames the wolf fly-der that made the web into leaving.
I enjoyed the flashback story more than I expected from an Applejack story. It's simple and straightforward, but carried by some really cute pony art and some nice environmental art.
(Note those mares are Big Mac's relatives)

The copy of The Good Place episode 204 I had was actually just episode 203 again, so I needed a substitute.
Anyway, the first episode shifted the story fully to the perspective of Michael, and it was pretty fun.
DC Super Hero Girls had come up on Discord recently, so that seemed the obvious choice for a quick substitute (after a few minutes of fishing for suggestions to no avail). "Frenemies" features Barbara Gordon's good friend Harleen Quinzel moving to Metropolis and shenanigans ensue. It was a pretty fun story.
Infinity Train now follows Mirror Tulip. The episodes are still good, and I even see some hints about later stuff.
Magia Record kept people around even with the subs. People noticed it wasn't quite as stylish as Madoka classic, but they still seemed to enjoy it.

The FiM episodes were alright. For the first, the group chat reminded me of how the people who tried to put episodes in a chronological order assumed Pinkie's excited talking about Rainbow at the start was her describing the Sonic Rainboom, and thus placing this episode after that. Nothing else comes to mind to mention. The second episode's chat had a lot of jokes about Rainbow being in the trash where she belongs.
The She-Ra episodes were a bit dumb, especially that bit about Bow not wanting to capture Catra because capturing is what the Horde does. So then what the hell are the heroes supposed to do? I guess it's the Batman Begins "I'm not going to kill you, but I don't have to save you" philosophy, given how the episode goes.
The Sailor Moon episodes were pretty enjoyable. The first was filler, but we got to see Rei and Usagi's argumentative relationship for the first time, and some fun dumb moments. The second episode had Jadeite get run over by a freaking plane. He's fine after, but then Queen Beryl puts him to "eternal sleep". Sailor Says videos weren't super weird this time. The first was actually the lesson of the episode! The second was about working hard in general, including exercise because much of the episode involved running from planes I guess.
Tangled has resumed, and thus should be part of the stream again. I'll replace one of the FiM airings with it, since those are reruns. The remaining never-streamed FiM episodes are all fairly solid, so I don't feel the need to pair them up with an episode people like more.

That was great. You did a fantastic job making the reader feel the same things as Twilight during the show, and I even found myself wanting to tab away for a second but I persisted. And then there was the scene after.
I have to say, when you mentioned on Discord that you would go back to vignettes for this story after this chapter, I didn't expect it to end with a "break up". I guess we're getting weeks of sadness coming up.

Once again, we're watching Oscar-nominated shorts in the lead up to the ceremony.
This time, we actually did watch the correct The Good Place episodes, fully establishing the new status quo of season 2, and we see how Tahani died. It was pretty good.
The Infinity Train episodes were good too. I hadn't noticed the wind creature was voiced by Wayne Knight on my first viewing.
The Magia Record had neat visuals, but the stuff with the broken friendship was pretty weak. Hopefully this isn't what the show will mainly be like.

I forgot a lot of how the FiM episode went, including Thorax's pony disguise, and even the song. It was good.
Tangled returns with a special appearance from Spike. Or rather a baby dragon. It was a fun episode.
Both of She-Ra's episodes had good comedy, with imagination sequences in the former (including callbacks to the 80s show), and Drunk Adora in the latter. They were pretty fun.
The Sailor Moon episodes were good too, with a weird tennis transformation in the former and the revelation that Tuxedo Mask transforms whenever Sailor Moon does in the latter. That was actually revealed in an episode we skipped, but it's presented more or less the same there as here. Coincidentally, both episodes involved Tuxedo Mask actually doing stuff, and Sailor Moon fighting alongside him without the other Sailor Scouts.

The second Sailor Says explains that it's good to be true to yourself, so villains can absorb more energy from you.

Rarity - Rarity calls Rainbow "doll". As always, the Rarity ending is the best one. Everyone celebrating the sock instead of Rainbow was a great ending.
Trixie - Trixie's hat being her laundry back is cute. Huh, so Trixie is actually magic! I mean, her teleporting in Forgotten Friendship showed that, but still. Rainbow pulling a rabbit out and calling for Fluttershy is cute.
Bulk Bicep - Not a fan of gags involving stinky stuff.

This story involves Marble throwing a party that gets way more ponies than she expected, and Pinkie is too busy to help, so Maud has to be the one to set up her party. It's a cute concept, and there are several cute moments, but it's an oddly structured story with some unexpectedly large amounts of dialogue from Maud and Marble, and it doesn't do as much with the premise as I would have liked.
First of all, it takes a long time to get to the actual premise. Second, even once we get to Maud helping with Marble's party, it keeps cutting back to Pinkie making a cake or trying to get to the party. It really felt like the writer lacked confidence in filling an entire issue with the premise, or even half an issue. There's also a minor continuity issue with a flashback where Pinkie has her poofy hair but no cutie mark.
I don't mind Marble and Maud talking so much, really. It's hard to write a story where Marble says nothing but, "Mm-hmm." I like the idea of Marble having Pinkie's tear waterfalls when crying. Also, she's apparently really popular.
Though I wasn't a fan of the constant cutting back and forth between Maud and Pinkie, I liked the ending once Pinkie arrives at the party and we learn what twists Maud put on the party.
Silver Quill's review is much more positive.

Good story, and very effective at depicting Twilight and Spike in this situation. It was sad seeing her forget even her friends.
This is the third and final part of a series.
This was a nice melancholy ending to this tale. Twilight's desperation makes her feel unlikable at times, but also pretty real, as expected from something based on real life. Pinkie's songs were a lot of fun. I will say that there was some fat in the story that could have been trimmed, but it also fits the rambling nature of Twilight's thoughts. The part where Twilight is woken up by the alarm was also confusing.

The Good Place's first episode was one you might have seen GIFs of, with Michael giving a live demonstration of the trolley problem. The second episode had a lot of Janet, with the introduction of Derek at the end.
I saw Kitbull before, and it's still good, though pretty obviously going for the heart by being about (1) a cat and dog getting along and (2) a dog being abused but then finding a better owner.
The Infinity Train episodes were alright, but not too remarkable compared to what's coming up.
Magic Record episode 3 featured no deaths, which disappointed everyone. The story hasn't been that interesting, so we decided to drop the show. If things pick up later, we'll double up episodes.
The replacement will probably be Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight, which was previously requested to replace Kaleido Star.

I get the feeling the original plan was for those stars to just be like the stars aligning on their own, but it looked more "intentional" to viewers than they realized. Celestia being the one to release Luna herself fits, though it doesn't get supported by the show enough for this to really make sense as the intention.

"PPOV" is a pretty underrated episode. Rarity especially is pretty fantastic here. It does get weaker once we get to Applejack's story, though.
The Tangled episode was good. Having seen this week's new episode, there are some odd things that don't match up with this one, though.
With She-Ra, it was pretty clear this wasn't actually a season finale, but Netflix splitting the season at an arbitrary point in the middle. The first was Shadow Weaver backstory, and it was alright. Second featured the stunning reveal of Bow's dads and backstory, and it was pretty fun. Notably, his dads expect him to wear normal clothes that cover his midriff and Bow wasn't meant to be a descriptive name. I also liked Adora putting odd emphasis on every word as an attempt at an accent.
The first Sailor Moon episode was a lot of fun, featuring two woman animators who arelovers good friends cousins and a villain duo that fell apart with zero effort from the heroes. Also Nephrite's cool car, which I suppose must have influenced Utena. The second episode featured what I think are our first indications of the reincarnation story with Usagi and Mamoru, and also Tuxedo Mask kissing Usagi after she falls asleep drunk in what I assume was seen as romantic in the 90s in Japan.
I couldn't find the Sailor Says for these episodes, unfortunately. The video I included is actually a preview; I didn't check it.

Seriously though, great return. I figured the stuffed animal plan had to go wrong somehow, but it still sucks seeing it go this wrong, especially as the chaos number kept going up as Rarity and Twilight tried to talk to Dusk.
It was rough seeing Twilight handle the next couple days after the fight, especially once Luna started keeping her up—good thing it was only a few days, at least. I'm glad Twilight and Rarity have gotten back to a snuggling place in their relationship.
Dusk losing to the chaos was sad. I was surprised to see the mind link come back to bite them like that, though Twilight was right in that he would have just found another reason to decide she's fake. I assume it isn't your intention, but I saw some similarities to, well, politics.
If I have one complaint, and granted, it's been a while since I read a chapter where she would have brought this up so maybe she did, it's that I feel like Luna hasn't really talked about her resentment toward Celestia before. Same with her being upset ponies enjoy the day more than the night. The fic has relied on show knowledge as a shorthand before, but it felt a bit odd seeing that come into play here.
I will say, it's kind of weird to see we're reaching the climax of Act II, since we've been here in Hollow Shades for almost two years now. That ends up adding to the feeling Twilight has of everything suddenly happening all at once.

The Good Place featured more plot developments, and it was pretty enjoyable. I had forgotten about some stuff that happened here.
Infinity Train featured some heavy shit happening, including flagrant use of "it's fine if they aren't actually human". It was great.
Revue Starlight was pretty boring for most of it, and had a weak Sentai Filmworks dub, but then in the last minutes, things went really Utena with a magical battle. We'll keep giving it a chance.

Read some fanfics
This was a fun story. Good to see Rarity cut through Twilight's thought process. As some comments mentioned, it is a bit odd to exclude the one character Twilight has canonically shown romantic interest in, but eh.
That was cute. Pinkie did admittedly make this hard to follow at times, though.
This was a fun story. I enjoyed the first part, which had some good banter and you depicted Ocellus's light obsession well. I do agree the ending was on the weak side, though. First, this story probably would have been better set early in Ocellus's time at the school, especially since she has a lamp in her room she apparently never used until now. Then the actual end isn't conclusive nor does it end with a good gag.

Some people hadn't caught all the relevant previous Tangled episodes, so some explanations were needed. They seemed to like the episode regardless.
She-Ra went into more detail about the backstory with the first episode. Now that we know Hordak is a clone and the original is still out there, that opens up this Hordak for reformation. The second episode had a pretty good battle scene at the end. In general, season 3 has definitely come out of the gate swinging, compared to season 2.
Sailor Moon closed out Nephrite's story in a surprisingly violent way, despite the green blood. It was done pretty well. Given Naru's prominence, one person wondered if she would be a Sailor Guardian. I assume he thought she was Sailor Jupiter due to the brown hair, but no, we're introduced to Makoto next episode. Usagi also had some good gags here, including when she tells Naru how bad Nephrite is but completely fails to explain anything before she bails.
Still couldn't find the Sailor Says for these episodes.

Got another commission back from Bevin Brand (who used to work on Equestria Girls), for a scene from Monochromatic's fic Crimson Lips, and she did a fantastic job with it. It's Rarity and Twilight under the mistletoe
