And many on this forum will still stan the fuck out of Pelosi.
Wealthy white liberal Democrats have no urgency for shit and haven't had any for some time.

I've always liked Pelosi. She's a strong and capable leader. She's done a lot of good in her life and I appreciate that. But fuck this shit. Time to step out of the fucking way.

Why not just say something like "I know that not everyone in the Party agreed with the Bill and they have valid reasons for doing so but as house leader I tried to get the best bill possible given the current climate. Hopefully, in the future, we can pass a Bill on immigration that satisfies all factions of the Party and our supporters."?

Why the snark and mockery?

I dunno. People act like there isn't a method to her madness. Agree or not, the logic to not impeach him (wont get past senate, the ensuing circus will give him even more facetime and embolden his base even more) is correct. Strategy wise its sound because Trump being Trump has helped push their big midterm win and presumably that streak will continue in 2020.

NOW, we can absolutely make the argument that people making decisions based on political strategies and not based on 'right vs wrong' is what got us to this point of a broken democracy with effectively no checks and balances. But we fell down this slope years ago.

There isn't. She is a coward and a loser. Sorry, there is no 4D chess going on here.

I pray that we don't look back and see Nancy and Biden as the reason why Trump got away with it all and a 2nd term ugh. That funding bill should of never passed without changes and protections in writing. Trump and the GOP can't be trusted with backroom handshake deals.

Been calling for Pelosi to be removed as speaker since the moment the Democrats won the house.

She is a complete fucking moron.

This is the type of out of touch thinking that makes people laugh and kinda proves Pelosi's point.
Lol didnt she expose a huge amount of terrible things happening at one of Trump's concentration camps that led to it being temporarily shut down? She has become a media darling with everyone coming at her or praising her. Whether people care to admit it or not she is outshining Pelosi in the national spotlight.

Yes, this.

You can appreciate the brilliance she's shown in the past and criticize her for being out of her depth today. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Pelosi is a fierce politician, and that's what makes this so disappointing. It is uncontested that she has control of her caucus at this morning. Why further go on the offensive against your own Dems?

What is YOUR vision, Pelosi? How do you see this playing out? Tell us that instead of attacking freshman Dems who are using their voice.

"Self impeachment" is her cute way of saying she doesn't have to do her fucking job because the President is acting badly enough to make the case to voters himself.

Profiles in courage with this one. Appalling.

Not sure how that correlates to my point at all. You can retain your ethos and never compromise but you will also never accomplish any of your agenda. It's a broken system but you still have to play within the confines of it or you aren't even really in the game.
Democrats completely laid down for this one. There's compromise and then there's flat out helping the monsters be monsters. No great master 4D level plays were made for compromise on our behalf. Unless if the agenda includes letting people be crushed more by fascists policy, then this is a resounding success for Democrats.

It's cool how Dem leadership seem to go out of their way to try to make their base as unenthusiastic as possible.

Embarrassing and petty are what come to mind when reading Nancy's remarks. You're the Speaker of the House, have some dignity and avoid such catty, childish mockery. Even if the four of them are Freshman with unrealistic expectations you don't go shit talking your party members in public like that. Least of all in the kind of clusterfuck of a political environment we're in right now. Her remarks are both uncalled for and just look extremely arrogant and condescending for no good reason. All this does is add fuel to the fire that establishment Dems are complacent and out of touch, if not actively obstructionist.

what does that have to do with the simple fact that AOC represents one district and who's following and political ideology is no where close to being representative of the swing districts that led Democrats to taking the 2018 midterms and gaining The House.

The irony being that the actual Democratic base of older black voters, at this point in time, are actually all over Biden and are in no way on the AOC style train, at least from what polling indicates as of now.

You don't need to "find" me. I've been very clear on where I stand with Pelosi if you read the thread:

Yes, this.

Now, let's move along.

This is why we can't have nice things. She thinks only of how things were, and how they can return to the negative peace between Democrats and republicans.

Wtf is "self-impeachment" Nancy? Seriously, what is it? Trump making a fool of himself? He's done that his entire term, and it hasn't meaningfully impeded his ability to fuck over millions of people, whether that's residents of Puerto Rico, immigrants and refugees at the border, or everyone getting fucked over by his tax cuts.

Maybe you should fucking listen to the progressives in your party once and a while.

How fucking dense do you have to be to not see this? I feel like everyone over the age of 50 in the Dem party needs to go. They're too stuck in the past of "bi-partisanship" and clearly stuck too far up their own asses.

Except aside from the four who were in safe Democratic areas, Justice Dems lost every race.

Yeah for how much hand-wringing there is over "Impeachment will rile up the Trump base!!!1" (which doesn't live in reality most of the time anyways), they're going out of their way to depress the democratic voter base by rallying everyone for 2018... then doing absolutely nothing with their gains. All it's saying to 2020 voters is they will continue to be useless with anything less than the full trifecta, and even then, maybe.

Can we stick to Nancy Pelosi and the article, please?

We don't really need all this meta commentary aimed at random people who have supported Pelosi and what you think of them.

Come on, every time Pelosi is criticized we get her fanclub talking about how great she is, and how smart she is.

"you can't criticize her for not pushing for impeachment, she knows what she's doing"
"oh, the votes aren't there for ____, what should she do? Work to get her party on the same page. She's too smart for that"
"you can't criticize Pelosi for giving trump a blank check for his concentration camps. It was all Schumer's fault"

Every fucking time

It's time for people to start realizing she's not playing some long game, and that the only fucking thing she cares about is her title.

What does Nancy Pelosi have to do with spending her vitriol attacking her own party members instead of the republicans? What does this have to do with demotivating people who are seeking hope? What does this have to do with being a divisive, instead of uniting leader of the only sane party in the US? Oh, that's right, she doesn't agree with progressives and sees them as a threat to her hegemony instead of a potential future for the party.

Well the voters had a chance to vote in the plethora of Justice Democrats and Democratic Socialists in the primaries and general elections last year, and most of them fell flat on their asses in any remotely competitive districts.

Maybe the issue is her caucus is actually made of more moderate (note, moderate compared to what the far left wants, but historically far more liberal than in 2008) and doesn't actually have the representatives you think The House is filled with.

Maybe the problem is there isn't a leader for the Democrats that will force the moderates to get in line instead of playing stupid politics with people's lives.
