The difference is Tatum had a high chance to go between 1 and 3. Those two situations aren't synonymous because once again kuzma was projected for the second round and Lakers chose him in the first.
Why does any of that matter? They got Kuzma with the Nets pick. That's simply a fact. Who knows or cares about what could have or would have happened, that's all speculation. If you want to evaluate the trade, that's a part of it. You're only reaching on this because you want so desperately to discredit the trade from the Lakers standpoint, its pretty transparent.
I know it's just a goofy exhibition game, but Knox gettting selected for the Rising Stars game over both Bridges or pretty much anyone from either year's draft class who doesn't completely suck is quietly baffling.

And I agree with you that that's a fact. Could they have not made the trade and got Kuzma? Yes. High probability they would have. So we can agree to disagree there.

Yes. But the probability was much lower since most projections for him were between first and 3. Kuzma was even projected in some instances to go undrafted. He wasn't highly recruited. Hence the agree to disagree.

He came through in the clutch with both an assist and a tough shot. He plays efficient, not flashy.
Once again, the game was only that close because the Nets shot the lights out from 3. When Raps adjusted to that, D'Angelo Russell went to work in the paint. Russell deserves the All-Star appearance, he's been ballin out this season.

McCaw also balled the hell out, he's earned himself in the rotation for sure.
Can't wait till Gasol starts because he's just so damn good/savvy at what he does. He had that skyhook workin tonight. As well as poppin 3s and making some sweet dimes. Instantly a fan fave. And this was all without Lin/Fred too.
