NBA2K19 had been Cracked 5 days before Release

NBA 2K19 will come out on September 11th and it appears that the game has already been cracked, five whole days prior to its official release. A cracking group has already cracked the game which appears to be using the Steam DRM.

This is a rare situation as most games that are protected by the Steam DRM are safe until the moment they are released. Moreover, NBA 2K19 has caused major issues to 2K Games with the inclusion of loot boxes.

Not sure how this is even possible , Steam DRM games can't be cracked before the game gets released on Steam , Unless There is some sort of error happened like FFXV/Origins or a Working Copy had been leaked somehow like in Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus Case

Pre-release leaks of Steam games happen when a publisher is too generous with review keys and ends up giving one to the wrong person, who either belongs to or handballs the game to a piracy group.

Edit: Oh, the game unlocked several hours ago for those who (pre-)purchased the Anniversary Edition.

In the case of Steam games, data on physical discs is protected by the same encryption that protects pre-load data. It's never been cracked and likely never will be.
