Are we still doing the "everything is wet at night" thing?

I had a hard time driving in NFS 2015 because of this with their style. Maybe with a res boost with my X it will be better but I'm not seeing anything to make me want to jump out and get the game.

What are you guys wanting with your NFS nowadays? A return to Underground style or something like a Hot Pursuit? It seems like they are pretty generic now but I can't really figure out why.

I kinda want a Horizon-Motorsport cycle but EA has basically nixed that.

Old fans long for the old school days since RIvals and new fans are more louder, thinking Underground was the first game of the series.

Dropping this anywhere near Death Stranding is - pun not intended here - a death sentence. EA really needs to dig a grave for this franchise already, the last four games have all been incredibly derivative and none of them have been particularly good. Heat looks like a combination of NFS '15 and Rivals which is just about the most bland and unappealing combination you could have.

COMPLETELY different audiences. Like, if need for speed ends up reviewing well, it'll end up selling millions and being a success on that date. The biggest obstacle to Heat is itself.

It's been a decent amount of time since Need for Speed was a good franchise. I wish they would just take a 5 or 10 year break with it.

Oh c'mon, Most Wanted 2012 was awesome. It was basically Burnout Paradise with real cars.

Rivals wasn't that bad either.

I'm sorry but this doesn't really interest me one bit. It looks like the previous ones that they made now. Overall I'll hold my full judgement when they reveal more soon.

"We plan to have post launch paid-DLC in the form of car packs. Later this year, we'll introduce a time-save pack, that will show all collectables on the map.

Honestly, that's it. No loot boxes and the above [Surprise mechanics]."

F8RGE said this on Reddit. Honestly, that's pretty good.

hard pass, the "stories" in these NFS games are so laughably bad and I know theres not much to go by but I expect this to be more of the same. Also really hated that voice acting.

I'll give it an honest chance when it launches. There's a shameful shortage of good NFS style games these days, so I hope it turns out well.

What i want to know is who are the people who keep telling them they are on the right path with this series!??

Like Rivals was..ok..but all i ever see for the past 7 years or so is that they need to go back to the old ways.

Why do they keep ignoring all the feedback!? What is the go?!

Can't be worse than the last one(s) right?....right?

Last NFS I played that I enjoyed was Pro Street, which I know I am in the minority.

They ditched the casino loot based progression. Can't be worse than that.... or.... can?

I played through a lot of NFS. I kind of liked it Rivals and the reboot. Nothing outstanding.

Most Wanted 2012 was amazing (felt like Burnout Paradise). Hot Pursuit 2010 was also amazing.

NFS needs a new home. Ghost is losing track of what is best for the franchise.

Can I play as the police? That's always been the side of NFS that I really enjoyed.

Nah, I'll pass. NFS Underground was cool and came out at the right time with Fast and the Furious and all that but this 'fight the power' nonsense is old and tryhard.

Cops (cops, cops!) patrol Palm City with various levels of aggression, with their behaviour altering based on the time of day. During the day the Palm City PD will have a more casual presence. They'll still be there as an ever present threat, but leave them alone and they'll return the favour.

Once the city descends into darkness, the rulebook changes and you're not the only ones breaking the rules. As the sun goes down, a rogue task force comes out to play.

Dying Light: Racing Edition?

Idk, the trailer is super cringy, but NFS always have bade story-lines. Imo the base gameplay of Payback was pretty solid, the bigger issues were related to its game design. This game could turn out really cool if they've fixed those issues.

Really want this to be good, I used to love NFS back in the PS2/3 era. Rivals was fine, but they haven't had a great game the entire gen.

Looks very generic. Probably filled with loot boxes to the brim as well.

Just give us Underground. :(

Rather amazing how after all these years Ghost Games still insist on having car lineups that are completely out of touch with the culture they're trying to push. No, street racers aren't decking out Lamborghini Countaches, Porsche 911s or Volvo Polestars - we know you guys love unobtainable supercars but they should be absolute endgame rewards, we should be starting with a VW Golf or other school run car.

they need to take all the time/money/resources they are investing into these cutscenes and story attempts and use it for more content/gameplay/game polish

Nah, I started with Road & Track Presents: The Need for Speed on Sega Saturn. Underground 1 and 2 were the best of the series, The Run being third but for completely different reasons. NFS stopped being NFS when EA bought Criterion and had them start making them. Don't get me wrong, burnout were great games, but they weren't NFS games. Making those guys work on it was a terrible idea. They should have put Burnout and NFS on alternating years and kept Black Box as a studio...

Exactly, I loved playing through Underground 2 with a souped up version of my Focus ZX3. That made the game that much more fun to me. The lack of starter cars in games built on "streetrace culture" is a big problem. It's literally the reason I've yet to play driveclub despite buying it shortly after getting my PS4 Pro. I don't like the car options. I want to fix up a regular assed car.
