Been watching the footage and I feel the game would've benefit from a faster traversal. Or at least the option to move and/or propel faster.

Aside from that, the game looks fun, but kinda simple overall. Will GP it and see what's up.

Isn't that what happens when you boost your agents stats as you progress? I always remember you agent being like a dead weight with low mobility early game, and by the end you were almost god like. Are we looking at a fully powered up agent in this footage?

I'm just not compelled by how it looks. I have a lot of quibbles looking at the video, but one that bothers me a lot for some reason is the complete weightlessness to the character. I wish there was more heft in landing from these crazy heights. Just to seem less floaty.

If this is made by sumo digital this is their biggest project yet since sonic racing transformed. I always thought they are great at executing great gameplay concepts and designing around them. They are a studio with a very gameplay driven mentality and it shows even in a huge open world game like this.

It's almost like you guys have never seen Crackdown before. The series has never been a graphical showcase. It's just supposed to be a bit of fun
This game was supposed to come out 3 years ago. That's longer than many games get for their entire development. Expecting something visually impressive after all this time, especially for a first party game at the end of a hardware generation is not unreasonable.

Is this the best looking game technically? Nope. Do I care one bit about that. Hell no!

Does this game look fun, which is more important than appearances imo? Sure does. Can't wait for Friday.

For what it's worth, youtube channel CleanprinceGaming is playing the game and says he's enjoying it. Says that exteriors can look really nice, interiors not so much.

Can you elaborate here please, because this doesn't make any sense to me.
The way the character jumps is weird to me.
Things don't have weight, when something falls, it accelerates down, in these videos they kinda just float down at the same rate.
Giant explosion goes off next to mech, no reaction from giant robot, just a health decrease, no stagger.
What was shown as destructible looks like a cardboard set you'd see in Hollywood, rather than an actual structure. A concrete wall falling down shouldn't look like plywood.
Same she main character picks up a car and just tosses it, you don't feel the weight. Something I personally feel adds immense immersion, if you can believe the physics of the world.

Looks like a significantly improved next gen Crackdown. Crackdown was fun. This is probably going to be even more fun. One of my favorite things about games like Crackdown, inFamous, Sunset Overdrive, ReCore, Gravity Rush and Saints Row (4) is casually running around and exploring for collectibles which you can use to power up. Crackdown 3 seems to have improved traversal mechanics and a whopping one thousand orbs to find. Looking forward to sinking some good time into this one.

This image comes from Infamous 1.

Infamous 2 wasnt much different. And it renders so differently from crackdown. You can see there the detail is greyed out about 50m from the character because the game doesnt have the verticality or speed of crackdown. It draws more detail in close up, but at the cost of massive pop in and blur.

For me it's the feel of control and crackdown is really unique in how the character moves and controls. It feels great and they really done a good job to get that right from the footage. It's going to be so fun running and jumping and feeling the improvement with each orb you find.

Core looks solid, but definitely lacks polish, i pray its not just the bare minimum to be a CD game, which looks as if is. We'll see tomorrow.

Honestly don't know, but it seems a bit on the slow side when traversing.

Like I said before, it looks like a last gen game. But after all this game went through (development hell, changing multiple studios), people should be glad it's finally out. It does look bad imo. But I'm glad for the fans that the wait is finally over for them. And you can play it for cheap if you have GamePass.
wow this looks awful... i mean the gameplay looks alright but nothing innovative
Well not every game has to be "innovative".

I think 1 had a slightly different HUD and Cole had long sleeves?
My bad, I thought he spokes about Second Son (I didn't know a second Infamous episode has existed for the PS3 !).

I think the art style is fine and some shots look good. I'm more bothered by the sheer emptiness of the world. Big ass highways and streets with GTA III-level population density. It just makes the world seem like an environment to fight baddies and see big explosions.

Can't wait for the Digital Foundry video on it. Pretty sure it will prove that the game looks great from a more technical / objectively point of view.
