This was my exact reaction reading the officially published synopsis of this movie.

Ancient portal on a Martian moon, portal connected to hell, demons come pouring out of said portal.

Pretty similar to the games, only divergence according to the movie's synopsis is a team of marines are dispatched to prevent a demonic invasion of Earth.

Straight to blu-ray, I feel like I'm back in the 90's. Looks predictably dreadful.

Those new Chucky movies are legitimately good, though. No joke. Seed of Chucky was bad, but Curse and Cult are fantastic. Cult is also on Netflix if you want to give it a shot.
