Yeah i'm Not saying people don't like pairing the self insert with their favorite character, but that's also not the main appeal of it for most fans I feel and is more of a bonus extra

I love everybody and use everybody whenever possible. :P But let me think for a sec... who do I use the most? Hmm...
For Alm: Tobin and Mathilda are epic paladins who take no sass from anybody. Clair goes all over the battlefield wrecking faces and taking purses. Python is an ace sniper and Faye is always within two spaces of Alm because come on, of course she is. And Lukas is always around too because I'd feel bad if he wasn't. One character I use less when necessary is Clive. The poor bloke just doesn't seem to last as long as he should.
For Celica: Mae's still hyper! Let's go! Seriously, Mae's the best. I like using Saber all the time too since he feels a bit more story-relevant than some. (He has the Demon Sword right now which is of course anxiety-inducing but I can't quit it...) Leon and Valbar are always around too. Genny is my terrifying terror-destroyer and Jesse seems quite promising as well.
I'm really conflicted on whether to get this. The last FE I really got into was Awakening. Wasn't really into what I saw of the ones after it. This one looks pretty cool and I have another Nintendo voucher to burn, but I dunno if this should be what I use it for. Think I may just wait for a sale.

Even weirder, I'm in the U.S. You can preorder the game with the expansion pass in the bundle, but there's no option that I see to purchase the pass separately.

I killed something with her via Seraphim earlier tonight and her "I really, REALLY don't like you" quote gave me life.
It's probably like Smash was and it's expansion pass that was not available to preorder seperately until after the game was released.
No clue why they do that, maybe they are afraid that some would click on the dlc by mistake instead of the full game and be angry at release time?

Oh, absolutely.
It does! To some extent, at least.
I'm still hopeful that Byleth has a bit more character to them that we haven't seen so far. It makes sense to me that they'd focus the marketing on the three Lords, just because the ability to choose your house is kinda the whole gimmick of the game. There could be plenty about Byleth we don't know.
On another note, does anybody think we'll see some 3H Amiibo eventually? I was surprised they didn't announce any during the E3 direct.

Basically, she made me counter all those monster spams with my own.

Assuming we can skip it entirely, I'd expect it to be similar to jumping straight into Hector/Eliwood's Tale in Rekka No Ken i.e. you'll get decent units/stats but you're better off soaking in the exp. the extra chapters grant you if you expect to struggle.
Like the previous posts said, Genny was a lifesaver couple of times in my playthrough in echoes. Recover & Invoke 24/7.

That preview was great! I wish they commented on whether there will be same-sex romance options or not, but I'm sure another preview will mention it. The fact that the explore mode with all the talking to students is seen as a positive feature was encouraging. Really looking forward to release day.

Very positive and promising write up, honestly it's basically a review. Praises writing for the most part, with some minor hickups and blemishes, really positive about the calendar and teaching systems, positive about the gameplay changes and removal of weapon triangle.

The first house story line took him 45 hours to beat, and the other two could be closer to 65 apparently. He recommends saving before before big decisions.

Now I basically have to talk to every character in the monastery after every big event, not that I wasn't going to do that anyway. Its also interesting that even in one route there may be multiple outcomes, thats really cool, and is going to encourage multiple playthroughs of each house
