New Funko "A day with Pikachu" set (and maybe a hint at Gen 8 release month?)

Pokémon fans have a lot to get excited about in the coming months thanks to a special collaboration between Pokémon Center and the collectible-creating experts at Funko. February 13, 2019, will bring the launch of A Day with Pikachu, a new line of figures available at PokemonCenter.com. Then, each month for an entire year, a new themed figure will debut on the site. Each of the 12 figures celebrates the changing of the months and seasons with a unique scene featuring Pikachu. Look for the following figures throughout this year and into 2020

A Day with Pikachu: One Lucky Day

A Day with Pikachu: Rainy Day Pokémon

A Day with Pikachu: Blooming Curiosity

A Day with Pikachu: Sweet Days Are Here

A Day with Pikachu: Sparking Up a Celebration

A Day with Pikachu: Splashing Away Summer

A Day with Pikachu: Charged Up for Game Day

A Day with Pikachu: Surprises to Fall For

A Day with Pikachu: Completely Thank-Full

A Day with Pikachu: A Cool New Friend

A Day with Pikachu: Ringing In the Fun

A Day with Pikachu: Surprising Weather Ahead

As you might have noticed, one is titled "A cool new friend"... which might reference new Pokemons... that figure would come out in November, so maybe Gen 8 will come out in November?

So that Bulbasaur is a POP but otherwise these are an offshoot line without the dead eyes, right? Cool.

I still have no idea why Nintendo hasn't made pokemon amiibos though.

They're all puns so it's more than likely it's gonna be Pikachu building a cute snowman, but yeah, the timing lines up. I wonder if Funko would even be given the license to make merch for the new 'mon that early?

as for the topic, I knew Pokemon Funkos were inevitable but this is pretty cool. I guess there will be Pops for Charmander and Squirtle as well. maybe even the Gen 8 starters come November

They already make nice figures that are neither Amiibo nor Funko, but these look nice too.

Well, the Pop line already isn't horrible. But individual figures can be disappointing. The Pikachu one could have be better. The new Bulbasaur one looks nice though.

Finally managed to get one of these at GameStop for 14.99. F all the damn scalpers who bought them up online when it came out. GameStop tends to carry some of the exclusive merch from Pokémon Center so they are always an option.

Because it's up to The Pokémon Company. Nintendo has very little involvement with the Pokémon IP, despite being 1/3 owner of the IP.
