Sony just pushed a new firmware for the PS5, file size is 913.5 MB. Sounds like it's just a STABILITY update.

New version: 21.02-04.02.00.02-00.00.00.0.1
Previous version: 21.02-04.00.00.42-00.00.00.0.0

All of the updates that don't add a specific feature get the patch notes "improves system performance." It's the new stability. Usually it just means they've fixed some security vulnerabilities.

Speaking of which, the recent major firmware upgrade did surprisingly add 1-2% performance boosts in some games with no need for game specific patches to the surprise of Digital Foundry when they were trying games. So that was pretty cool.
