New model with longer battery lifeClick here for details
About 4.5-9.0 hours
  • Depending on the software you play, the duration will change.
For example, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" takes about 5.5 hours.
  • It is a standard time. Depending on usage, it may be shortened.
Current model
About 2.5-6.5 hours
  • Depending on the software you play, the duration will change.
For example, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" takes about 3 hours.
  • It is a standard time. Depending on usage, it may be shortened.

Seems like ones that were a heavy burden on the battery are getting almost double the time. Nice.

Surprisingly good battery upgrade. Can't say I'm interested until a hypothetical Pro, but cool for new people jumping in for their first one.

That's a nice battery upgrade. I assume this and the Switch Lite both run on the new Mariko chip as well.

Yep there it is. No new design just new internals. But this is what I waited for, so O am definitely grabbing it. Shame about the lack of new colors.

This is what I would consider a worthy upgrade. All I care about is better battery life.

May get this when I can afford it next year and keep the launch one for obvious reasons.

It's kind of weird there is so much battery life on BotW compared to Switch Lite, which is reported to have 82% of the battery capacity as the original Switch. Implies an even bigger battery than the original, but we'll see.

Not gonna lie, I was hoping for some performance improvements, namely in games running at dynamic resolution. Still, I might upgrade in the future regardless, since my launch unit is showing its age a bit.

Great battery bump. It was expected that they would move to a much more economical SoC like they did with the Lite, and combined with the original battery size that gives a significant boost in battery life.

Time to upgrade. Sell the old one or turn it into an emulation machine. That's the question.
