I'm not joking. I still remember the lengthy debates. With one person especially... I think the name was I-Low or something like that. Dude legit thought Sony was going to launch the PS4 that was just a few Gigaflops more powerful and maybe 1-2GB or RAM. I'd have to search through the old place for the speculation threads of Orbis.

They can, but Navi 10 LITE seems to be based on the Navi we see today in the shape of 5700 and 5700XT with 36 and 40 CUs.

XB1X was based on 580 which had 36 CUs. XB1X shipped with 44 CUs, and disabled 4.

PS4 Pro was based on the 480 which had 36 CUs. 470 had 32 CUs as it used the chips with 4 disabled CUs. But the PS4 Pro used a custom chip with 40 CUs and disabled 4 to get 36 full CUs like the 480.

We didn't know much about RDNA back in June and it's anyone's guess what AMD/Sony/MS were giving out to developers as performance estimates but it's a safe assumption that whatever dev h/w anyone had back then it was based on Vega and most certainly had more than 9.2 TFlops. Just a thought.

I remember people saying Sony couldn't afford to make a PS4 for years before the Orbis rumors hit so that doesn't surprise me lol. People think that if they say it enough it'll be true.

see this is what i was afraid of. Same thing happened with reiner.

This is a speculation thread. Anyone should be allowed to speculate. Regardless of their industry creds. Literally everyone here is talking out of their ass. We have got chun li predicting an 18 tflops $399 ps5. We have got thuway making shit up and getting articles written on his 'breaking' news. We tolerate them all.

I don't know why this thread reacts to positive news like this. It's like we can't handle the thought of a powerful next gen console without trying to get people banned.

That is what I'm expecting next gen. The amount of detail and depth will blow this gen out of the water. I think it will be more about all those details coming together to create amazing worlds to play in. This will extend to player interaction with stuff like combat and traversal too.

More than 9.2TF indicates 40 or more CU's, so a minimum of 10.24TF with 40cu at 2Ghz
