Yes. After a bunch of nudes and sexting (and a trip from Brazil to Paris), she was allegedly raped by Neymar on their first meeting. The day after the rape, she texted him like nothing happened, talking about how good it was, how much she wants to have sex with him again, asking for a gift for her child (!), and so on... But it was all a trap to catch Neymar on video raping her again. During this new meeting, she asks for a beating, and since Neymar was unwilling to comply, she started to beat him instead.

She got back to Brazil and 15 days later, after her lawyer failed to reach an financial agreement with Neymar's lawyers for an aggression perpetrated by the player, she filled a police report accusing Neymar of rape (and not only aggression), something that surprised even her (ex) lawyer.

She said Neymar raped her because she didn't want to have sex with him without condoms (the risk of getting pregnant by a millionaire).

Oh. She went through a physical examination by the police and no evidence of injury was found (beyond a hurt finger). She's also refusing to go back to the police to provide further explanations (she prefers to talk with TV stations).

By the way, there are police reports saying she attempted to kill her ex-husband with a knife. It seems she have no profession and is passing through a lot of financial difficulties (including an eviction order).

But some people are asking us to believe her, no matter what, and to consider Neymar a rapist. Sure.
Stop posting misinformation.

A brazilian deputy has proposed a law called "Neymar da Penha" to make false accusations of crimes like rape face more serious accountability. To those unaware, there's a law here called "Maria da Penha" to protect women who suffered all type of aggressions and was made in homage to the same woman that suffered paraplegia because of a beating from his husband. This is utter madness. The girl already lost , as she is being called a liar by superior instances and will suffer humiliation in form of the law name. The case is still ongoing and Neymar name is already being cleared as the victim without we knowing the full facts.

Stepping into this thread is like entering the twilight zone. You guys don't care about the victims, women's rights or facts at all. All you care about is getting one in on the "other side". You are a bunch of narcissists who could never admit that they were wrong, because doing that would mean the "other side" won. You know what's funny though? The "other side" thinks exactly the same way and that is why nothing will ever change in the USA. And it's a disease that spreads to the countries that are culturally influenced by you. Because of it Trump will be re-elected, no matter how shitty he was as a president and the UK will leave the EU, no matter how much lies were told about the benefits of doing so. Because facts don't matter, morals don't matter, what only matters is my team winning over the opponent. I see this everyday when reading news and social media. And it's the same in this thread. No matter what evidence comes to light that the story of the alledged victim doesn't hold up, you cover your ears and repeat "I believe women". You're not feminists. All you do is making it harder for real victims to be heard, because the next time someone is accused everyone will point to Neymar's case although it's an outlier in a sea of real accusations.

What the fuck am I reading.

Who the heck said it's about winning over the other side? Jesus, some people really can't bother to read. It's funny, this case is the most sexist thing to come out of this country yet, just look at this post

Yet we are the fake feminists. This case is being used by sexists to spread their idea that women are crazy and there's even a deputy wanting to make a law that will make it even harder for rape victims to speak out, since rape is already a hard to prove crime. Yet how dare we defend the "alleged" victim of rape.

It seems he does admit he beat her on the conversation. He says "As marcas são sua culpa, você pedia mais". And then she says " Tá louco, eu pedi para parar e você até pediu desculpas".
Translation:
-Neymar: "the marks/scar(on her body) are your fault, you asked for more"
-Her: "Are you crazy, i've asked you to stop and you even sayed sorry"

So your suggestion is for us to condone the victim without knowing the full facts already? Because look, rape is already a hard to prove crime, even more so when we're talking about a superstar with as much influence as Neymar here in Brazil

Apparently the rest of the WhatsApp conversation was disclosed.

Edit: there's a more accurate translation here

For me it looks like Neymar knew what he did, or at least, admitted to it even if he didn't took it seriously. (in regards to beating her)

Although the messages doesn't mention anything about the condoms

Don't spread misinformation, that poster even got banned because of the post you quoted.

The only thing we know for sure is there are injuries on her thighs and buttocks. And Neymar didn't deny that he was the perpetrator of these injuries as we can see in the WhatsApp messages. Also there were no injuries found on her genitalia.

This is a really muddy case.

EDIT: There were injuries on her thighs and buttocks*

This report was made 6 days after the incident. While the latest one which says there are no injuries has been made 16 days after the incident. It's plausible that it healed, since she's getting treatment.

This translation is a lot better but still has some flaws. That part about was 'legal' is wrong, it's more like she says "it's a shame that everything went wrong", and he replies "Not at all, we met and it was cool... I can see that you are a good person. Unfortunately today's episode soured things a bit. But it was a pleasure to meet you".

Then Najila replies to the Neymar's message that said "But the bruises you are guilty of them too hahaha you asked for more (shrug emoji)", saying "Are you crazy? I asked you to stop and you even apologized. But now. Another one for therapy". Neymar doesn't deny that account directly, he only replies with two thinking emojis. When he says "I'd never do that" is about sharing her pictures that she asks him not to, not really about what she said about her asking him to stop.

She never says anything remotely like "we lost it" either, what she means is that the Neymar she met in the second day was the one she fell in love with, and in the first day he was completely crazy. The word is "desencontro", and can't be really translated to English it's meaning, it's more like he was violent with her in the first day and she was calm and ready to meet the Neymar she met in the second day, but not the violent one she met in the first day.

I can't really correct the whole thing now.

Najila's police deposition is over, and it went over more than five hours. It was interrupted sometimes because the accuser was crying a lot. Now she is waiting for her friend's deposition.

Neymar said that his PR advisors were to blame for the nudes that are shown on the Instagram video and is considered revenge porn crime

This Neymar's excuse is absolutely laughable and just something to save face. He is fucked in the revenge porn accusations. Reminder that this accusation will be made by a D.A., Najila can at best have her lawyer as assistant, same in the rape accusations.

Translation of the tweet: ''THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT: RAPE ACCUSATIONS DON'T RUIN CAREERS OF RICH AND FAMOUS PEOPLE AT ALL" [She complemented her tweet so it's made clear she is talking about rich and famous people]

On the print screens, these quotes:

"I don't have a life anymore, they are conspiring against me", Najila.

"I never felt more loved", Neymar while thanking the fans.

Najila left the police precinct carried by her lawyer. She is heading to an hospital because she felt unwell during the deposition. Fucking paparazzis are in the persuit of the car. How can anyone can think an woman would go for all his fucking trouble for money is beyond me. She could get a quite comfortable life by just leaking that they had a date and doing the Instagram model thing.

Hope for a fair trial and that the justice is done, but give the alleged rape victims the benefit of the doubt. It's not really that hard.

A big Brazilian sports reporter was taken out f the sports coverage at Globo, Brazil's biggest media mogul. This happened days ago, and it was justified by Globo and the reporter that he only gave the cell number of Neymar's father to the ex-lawyer because he wanted to get an exclusive about the case once it went public. It was revealed now that that wasn't the case. The truth is that Mauro Naves was acting to cover up the situation and keep it private.

Like me and several others have said, Neymar is a powerful figure in Brazil and someone at Globo was actively acting on trying to cover up that this would go public. Can anyone here truly understand the dimension of this and how much this woman is facing right now?

It's funny with all the people agreeing with that poster. It feels more like you guys haven't been following the news and think we are defending the woman just because she's a woman, and not because she's a victim of a crime. That's what sad, thinking this is all a competition. When in fact, a woman's life is ruined because she decided to speak out, while Neymar already stated that he never felt more loved by the fans than now.

Seems to me like you have picked a "side" yourself.

I'd find it hard to believe anyone at this point in time can make heads or tale of the shit show that has been presented by either side and place a flag in the sand without leaning heavily on bias. Especially when there is likely a hell of a lot more to be said and leaked.

So I translated a short chronology about the case for anyone that is interested and to maybe avoid more misinformation, the original is here.

Before May 15th:

Najila keeps contact with Neymar using a social network and both start to text to each other.

They agree about Najila trip to Paris, with the cost paid by the football player.

May 15th:

Neymar and Najila get together in a hotel in Paris, where she was staying.

In this day, according to the model, she was victim of assault and rape.

May 16th:

They go back to talk using a message app again. She says she wants to meet with him again. Neymar says: "Of course I want to have sex with you again".

The player goes again to the hotel Najila is staying. A video shows the model forcefully slapping [agrendindo a tapas] the player. The video is interrupted without showing the scene's conclusion.

Neymar leaves the hotel. Later, they exchange messages by a social network: the model sent a picture of her body with marks. Neymar answers saying she was the one to blame for the marks. "Are you crazy?", questioned the model, claiming she asked the player and Neymar even apologized to her.

May 21th:

Already back to Brazil, Najila undergoes an exam with the medic Luiz Eduardo Rossi Campedelli. The report shows bruises, scratches in the gluteus, anxiety and depressive dissorder and not specified superficial traumas.

May 31th:

The model press charges (accusing Neymar of rape) in a policie station in São Paulo.

June 1st:

The case becomes public. The player's father says the athlete is victim of an attempt of extortion; the laywer then representing Najila denies that.

June 2nd:

Neymar records a video saying their relation was consensual. "It was a relation between man and woman, between the four walls, something that happens with every couple (...) Now I was caught off guard because of this."

June 5th:

In an interview, the model said she refused to have a sexual relation with the player because there was no condoms, according to her, he turned her and hit her violently in the buttocks.

June 6th:

Neymar testifies in a police station in Rio de Janeiro claiming that advisors were responsible for publishing the video with the model's intimate pictures. As he was leaving, he shows gratitude for the support: "I felt much loved".

June 7th:

Najila testifies in a São Paulo police station about her accusation against Neymar of assault and rape.

I tried to be as faithful as I could, if I made some gross mistake that compromises the original meaning please let me know.

Najila alleges that her apartment was invaded and that the tablet were the full 7 minutes video that was there was stolen. While this looks shady at first glance since her landlord said that she was lying yesterday, police forensics are at the local and did find signs of a break in:

I think this enigma with the video is relatively easy to get a resolution tough: one, Najila is not sure if the video content is saved in the cloud, but that's still possible to track. Two, the video was leaked at the same night when she was giving her interview, and it did seem to try to put her in a bad light. Whoever had access to the video and shared with the media, the police could likely track it down as well. It doesn't make sense to me from a strategy point that she would leak that video herself, especially because it was edited.

Police only found prints belonging to her and her maid in her apartment so far tho

Do feel that if one were trying to leak the vid to make her look bad, theyd cut it after she hit him but before she mentioned being assaulted the day before, fwiw

It's right afterwards she says that he left her alone. It does make her look bad without a more informed knowledge of the situation. Whoever leaked the video, it will be easily traceable by the police. The former lawyer might have a copy as well.

In a defense strategy sense, don't you agree that it doesn't make sense to leak that video right in time for what is arguably a credible interview of her talking about what happened? Especially edited down.

No. If i were the defence and engaging in something as illegal as a break, theft of evidence, and engage in a controlled leak, id either cut to before she mentions the aggression (since she already slapped him before that) or go the extra length and try to edit the audio of her mentioning it out of the thing.

That one of her ex-lawyers also mentioned seeing only a "1 min long vid" only makes the situation eve muddier.

And HOLY SHIT at this chat between her former lawyer and her. Cor check this shit out:

Bueno: "Calma, Vamos depois falar pra eu entender e ai montar uma estratégia correra [sic]"

Najila: "Tá bom. Tenho tudo aqui. Conversas".

Advogado: "Relaxa um pouco aí depois conversamos com calma".

Najila: "Minha foto machucada. Vídeo com ele (ele nem sabe desse)".

Advogado: "Faz o seguinte Não mostre isso pra NINGUEM. Nem pra sua melhor amiga, tá?"

Najila: "Mas você acha que tenho que fazer exame de corpo de delito ainda hoje? Ninguém tem. Eu achei que nem ia chegar viva no Brasil".

Advogado: "Não".

Najila: "To sem dormir. Pânico. Eu ia denunciar ele lá na França mesmo. Mas fiquei com medo. Sozinha".

Advogado: "Se você fizer exame eles vão perguntar quem fez. E não é a hora".

Conversas do dia seguinte mostram que Najila volta a perguntar se não deve ir ao médico: "Tem certeza que não preciso fazer exame de corpo de delito?" A resposta é um áudio de 41 segundos. A garota responde: "Ta bom".

She is obviously pissed at her former lawyer with extremely good reason. Behaviors like this are one of the several reasons our job is so fucking discredited. What happened here is serious and OAB needs to act on it. This is going far beyond breaking the lawyer-client privilege. Disgraceful.

here is the full exchange

she admits to leaking a video against the lawyers recommendation, and that's why he ends up dropping her. Not sure if it's the 1 minuted edited video tho

That's wrong. She says that she will do it, not that she did it. Her words are:

NAJILA: Vou publicar o vídeo. Não quero Neymar impune jogando feliz e eu sofrendo de stress pós-traumático. Não vou sofrer sozinha.

Translation: I'm going to publish the video. I don't want Neymar to go unpunished happily playing football while I'm suffering of PTSD. I won't suffer alone.

And these messages were shared by her defense. It doesn't mean that she was the one who leaked the video at all. These messages happened right before she filed a police report, so more than one week ago. The leaked video came out two days ago, the same day she gave her SBT interview and spoke publicly about the situation for the first time.

ok, the lawyer telling her *not* to get her body examined asap is beyond the beyond fucked up. Dude's goddamn *fucked* there.

And yeah, her body of evidence would be miles stronger had she done it in france. French police would also probs be way better equipped to deal with the investigation.

With Mauro Naves reportedly involved at a cover up and being friends with the former lawyer, an investigation on what motives he would have to do that needs to start ASAP. Maybe the actual stronger evidence of what actually happened is there. If he didn't do anything, why to try to cover up? The fact that the lawyer is an owner of a restaurant that is partnered with Neymar's foundation is another unfortunate coincidence. The negotiations only went "truly south" once she insisted on filing a police report. We can't ignore the possibility of this girl could potentially be dead if she hadn't actually made that police report.

And while I agree with you that French police would be better equipped, it's completely understandable that she would be afraid for her life and wanted to come back home ASAP. The clusterfuck of legal council she got truly thrower her under the bus here.

Pretty much. That was some really bad advice from the lawyer there. Ended up hurting her case for sure.

Things like this I speak with sound confidence that aren't simply "bad legal advice". This is deliberate. The way it's looking, the former lawyer was indeed selling her, and by selling her I don't even mean a private settlement. No lawyer with good intentions and having his client's interests at heart would ever tell her that. He put his former client's life in serious risk here, and I'm starting to suspect this woman wouldn't be around if she didn't file the police report agaisnt her former's "lawyer" will. Why would the lawyer keep her waiting after a reunion that she didn't even asked for and still selling her a bullshit story of "strategy"? Holy shit at this story, it keeps getting fucking crazier.

She had no way of knowing it, but she should have done the forensic exams as soon as possible, and in France, I bet they have much more resources and technology. The sooner you do it, the more it tells (like the presence of semen).
The lawyer telling her to not do it is incredibly shady.
As for the person that said the video should be easily traceable and recoverable if it is on the cloud, I really don't know, in practice we don't have the resources and manpower to do it, and the companies that host the data usually don't comply. For instance, I've seen several investigations regarding illicit drugs in which the companies (usually Facebook/whatsapp and Google) refuse to give the data, even with a court order, claiming it is hosted in the US, so a US authority should authorize it, meaning the request must go thru diplomatic sources, which can takes months if not years.
I have never seen, however, a case in which the user tries to recover their own data to give to the police, so I dont know how it would work (like, would she contact Google directly, or would the police contact google in her behalf, and if so, would google accept some kind of waiver saying she authorizes the recovery).

P.S. Feel free to correct any grammar mistakes I made.
