LoL, Clemson just ran a reverse for a touchdown in the National Championship Game. We were talking about how the reverse is a lame play in the NFL, but dangerous in college.

Their identity is having the most efficient passer the last 8 weeks of the season. Titans got lucky their ST was on fire and Ravens failed those two 4th downs. They were up 14-0 and allowed Henry to thrive, their passes where still more valuable, however.
Smashmouth ain't getting you anywhere when Pat Mahomes can score as quickly as he can. Titans luckily have a top tier passing team to box with the Cheifs rather then trying to "set up" a run game. They stupidly go to a run heavy game script to start out, they are asking to lose.

The whole point of Smashmouth is to keep the ball out of the hands of explosive offenses. Keep them on the sideline as a single possession can eat up to half of a quarter. Then when the other team finally gets the ball, they are cold and out of rhythm.
Because you're not going to out-score an MVP-winning QB win an Andy Reid offense in a shootout.

The whole point is watching the SB from the couch every year. It is wasting scoring potential and the only way it works is if your defense and special teams make + plays for you to help build a lead. It is a highly inefficient way to play football, especially when you have a deadly passing game. See Cowboys 2014/16 it is not the kind of identity you want. Titans need to be pass happy in their opening script and utilize Henry on positive running situations like goalline and short yardage, and don't be afraid of 4th downs.
