The Nike ad starring Colin Kaepernick does not appear to have adversely affected sales, an analyst said on Saturday.
According to Edison Trends, a digital commerce research company: "Nike sales grew 31% from Sunday through Tuesday over Labor Day this year, besting 2017's comparative 17% increase."

The sportswear giant released the first version of its ad on Monday, the Labor Day holiday. It featured the quarterback and the slogan: "Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything. Just do it."

Kaepernick, 30, has been without a team since opting out of his San Francisco 49ers contract in March 2017. In 2016 he was an originator of protests by NFL players, targeting racial injustice and police brutality, which often involve kneeling during the pre-game playing of the national anthem.

That boycott is really killing them.

If the ad campaign did not start until Monday, then obviously whatever backlash the Kaepernick promo brings will not be reflected in Labor Day weekend sales.

Funny how the electoral college doesn't translate into popular opinion. Almost like true democracy doesn't line up with the racist fuck in this country.

At a certain point all press is good press and this ad got all the pundits talking about Nike.

Clearly this is very clever right wingers buying as much Nike products as they can so they can destroy them in order to be left with less money and no Nike products.

The boycott is still going strong. The increased sales are due to Real Americans acquiring additional shoes to burn them.

Edit: Damn, too slow

Nike's online sales have rocketed since the company revealed that former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick would be the face of its 30th anniversary "Just Do It" ad campaign. President Donald Trump, who railed against Nike's homage to the gridiron protester, insisted Wednesday that Nike was "getting absolutely killed with anger and boycotts" because of the ad.

Online sales jumped 27 percent from Sunday through Wednesday, according to Edison Trends, a Silicon Valley digital sales and trends research firm. Nike's sales decreased 2 percent during the same period last year, according to Edison figures.

"There was speculation that the Nike/Kaepernick campaign would lead to a drop in sales but the Edison Trends data does not support that theory," Edison co-founder Hetal Pandya said in a statement to HuffPost.
