Incredible work from Ninja Theory.

Really sets the bar and expectation for Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Studios.

Well, it's a video. Of course it looks gorgeous. I'll comment on the animation when there's gameplay.

Good thing video game companies aren't so notorious for showing off a game and then downgrading it later that the community invented a word to describe the practice—oh wait.

Let's hold our horses until we actually see the game.

It's incredibly disturbing. As games get into higher fidelity, the player will start to actually 'feel' what's happening on screen in great detail. Like watching footage of a battle with someone dying. The impact will be tremendously emotional and visceral.

This might be that kind of game. IOW, hold on to your butts!

For the skeptics, have you seen Senua's Sacrifice? With more CPU and GPU power, I fully believe that Ninja Theory of all people can deliver a game with next level animation on new more powerful hardware.

It wouldn't exactly be the first time either.

Saying "it's CGI" and not gameplay shouldn't discount the fact that that is some goddamn incredible facial motion capture.

It looks great, and they were already one of the top devs in this regard this gen. Still, need to see more than an inengine trailer to take be convinced that they will achieve that visual fidelity. I sure hope so! This is looking basically CG level, although I did spot some weaknesses in the scenery pans.

Definitely a strong way to start off next gen, stunning trailer.

Mmm.. It's a next gen video
I would at least wait for gameplay and other next-gen games to be honest

it's fucking unbelievable. ten years ago i was wigging out about that Heavy Rain trailer because i thought it was such a great digital performance. this completely blows it out of the water.

How about we actually see other next gen games too? Then we can see who actually sets the benchmark

It's in-engine. And it's next-gen. How is it surprising :P
Watch it get a downgrade in shading, LOD and etc. once that runs on an Xbox Series X.

It's like... Yeah, and Uncharted 4 was going to look even better than the released game and run 60fps because they showed it at E3 initially. That's the start of all gens. Lots of bullshots and over-estimations.

I'd like to see the animations when actually playing the game before making my judgement on that. If the trailer is a hint of what's to come though this could be right.

In engine should always be a red flag just in case, but NT don't disappoint, i wonder if they are still using UE4?

In terms of cutscenes, yeah, it's amazing but I agree, let's see the game in motion first.
Also, let's not forget the incredible actress behind the role, Melina Juergens, she is amazing and so captivating. And to think she is a video editor and Hellblade was her first work.

It makes sense because its next gen exclusive, i expect this E3 to blow Hellnlade 2 away (or when they show more non cross gen games)

I was amazed by the first game, so I'm not surprised NT is raising the bar and I have no doubt they'll achieve it.

Even if it is in-engine, it doesn't mean it'll look like this. It's a controlled trailer. Classic next-gen bullshots. I'll wait until the game is released.

Heavenly Sword was a benchmark last gen. No reason to doubt this, imho.

Heavenly Sword looked great, but that is actually an example of a game that didn't meet its' target render. Regardless, I am very confident that NT will deliver a fantastic looking game. Just need to be see more to have confidence it will look this good. Not used to seeing next gen games yet, and that Godfall game, while looking pretty good graphically, is not a showpiece software.

when thinking about good character models I always go to Naughty Dog or recently the RE Engine, but then I'm always reminded that Ninja Theory exists, and boy every time it's just a real eye opener.

Whether or not the game ends up looking that incredible, that trailer was fucking dope. Sold me, at least, on the idea that I do need to play Senua's sacrifice. Maybe I'll dip into it this weekend. Hard to tell anything about what Senua's Saga will be like, but based on the giant panning shots over the landscapes, I'm getting the impression that this is going to be some kind of huge open world adventure ala God of War. Maybe I'm way off base, but that's the vibe it gave off kind of.
