So, looks like the Nintendo Switch 3DS got a new Firmware update today. New Firmware is 11.7.0-40, but there's no patch notes yet... not that anyone is expecting anything other than...

They're probably trying to curb down on the modding scene. Probably not gonna update since I use a softmod to use a controller for streams.

Was assuming this was just an end-of-life anti-piracy update, but I have to keep reminding myself that Nintendo is somehow still considering the 3DS "current-gen". So maybe there really is some added "stability" in there.

The only reason they update 3DS anymore is to squash bugs/exploits to make hacking harder.

They say they "improve user experience" so that people don't complain that the updates are useless.

This is not the issue though. I'm just saying the link in OP may be wrong and would need to be updated properly when that comes.

More than likely fixes access of movable without proper permissions - if they bothered to fully fix DSiWare stuff from working I'll be surprised.

They'd put a noticeable dent in the CFW scene if they simply unlocked the processor for the New 3DS to run games smoother.

I think it's been confirmed the exploit you are referring to was virtually untouched.
