Wario Land VBR was one of those things that always seemed really obvious for the 3DS that we never ended up getting so I guess it would fit in with Nintendo's current line of support for the system to do it now.
They applied for Wario Land, 1080 Snowboarding and Wave Race in the last couple years.

Seriously though. I want a new Wario Land so bad, but I also want a COLOR remake of Awazon on 3DS. The 3DS has the same 15:9 aspect as the 3DS so it would be a PERFECT experince!

Possibly, but again WarioWare 3DS was part of that. Too much of a coincidence IMO.
/v/ does get real leaks from time to time, and it's fun to look back. Mario Odyssey was the best one. /v/ is also a great place to post leaks in complete anonymity, he'll even Ive posted some EA leaks last decade, again completely anonymously, when I had connections.
A remake of VB Wario Land would make perfect sense as a 3DS game though, since the whole game is designed around the background-foreground effect (which went on to inspire Mutant Mudds).
I'm kind of annoyed about the 3DS still getting support but I'd totally be down for this, lol. It would be a shame for that game to never be rereleased and sit trapped on a failed console. Why they never just released VB games on the Virtual Console in grayscale or something is beyond me.
I would love a game in the style of Wario Land 4, with HD & 16:9 graphics in the style of Wario Land Shake It for Wii.
They are. Wario Land IV and Wario Land: The Shake Dimension are legitimately great (and often times hilarious) games.
i never played 4 but 1, 2 and 3 are excellent, my favorite is 3. Definitely look into trying them if you can.
Played every Wario Land game bar the Virtual Boy one and I'd be so hype for a new one. I actually considered writing "Retro makes new Wario Land" in the "left-field but plausible E3 announcements" thread but now it doesn't seem so left-field any more!
It would have made sense five years ago, it doesn't make a ton of sense now that the 2DS is their focus and they barely include stereoscopic 3D in their own games anymore.
Yeah, pretty funny how Nintendo just gave up on the gimmicks of both of their most recent hardware before the Switch.
Barely any unique GamePad functionality on the Wii U at all, barely any special 3D stuff on the 3DS in the latter part of it's life
They're all pretty good. Certainly better than any of the handheld Mario games. 4 is great.
I hope they finally make a playable Waluigi for the first time. Please, no 3DS, this will be very disappointing and probably it won't sell as much on it as it would be on Switch.
True. 3DS is selling well in the west and it makes sense to keep it alive, but it is not 3DS that is selling it is 2DS and 2DS xl. Those two systems stands for a clear majority of the sales.
yeah, it feels pretty limited and archaic compared to the later Wario Lands, but it's still decent
I'd be surprised If we got a Wario 2D platformer before a Mario one or Mario maker version on Switch but anything's possible
