Akira is one of the most important anime movies of all time. It's a big thing. Many media in Japan reference this scene all the time. It's not a coincidence.

I'm not sure what Final Fantasy VII you played my man but I'd like a copy of that. Aside the motorcycle chase sequence, I can't think of one instance where FFVII feels like Akira.
