Imagine if 10 AM EST tomorrow comes and goes without an announcement. We would be looking at a meltdown of epic proportions.

I wanna see how good the games are before making big claims. Likely you'll be right, but FE looks like they're stepping up their game quite a bit. The jump to Switch could broaden the appeal. LM3 on the other hand looks not terribly different from LM1-2.

Like most of my problems in life, I blame it on the gacha game and the abundant amount of Fire Emblem characters in Smash Bros.
Wasn't the case for SMG. It sold 1/3 of its lifetime sales after the launch of SMG2.
Paper Zelda raises a good point - 2D Zelda probably(?) doesn't have as many strong opinions on its visual style other than being top down. It's wide open for some change without huge backlash.
ALBW was great but it was kind of plain - a very vanilla 3D adaptation of LTTP. Hopefully they've done some experimenting there

Luigi's Mansion 2 sold over 5 million on 3DS. It will sell even more on Switch. I don't think we need to have the conversation about Nintendo's series growing on Switch.
It wasn't in this thead; it was back in January. He pretty much just said 2D Zelda in 2019 and 3D Zelda in 2020.
It's not like the Switch boost won't affect Pokémon too. Brawl sold 13m+ on the Wii and even ORAS, on the 3DS, sold over 14m+.
Do you expect the direct announcement to include some confirmation that a certain game will appear? For example, in the March direct the announcement said that there would be more info on Mario Tennis Aces. Do you think they may do that with Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion 3, or Animal Crossing or just make us wait to see what could be shown?

that happened before just over a year ago, when they ended up just dropping a non-livestreamed Mini Direct on YouTube with no official advance notice. could happen again tbh

FE and LM I wouldn't be surprised by, AC I would though. Given they only gave us a teaser announcement I would imagine they'd want a full reveal to be much more of a surprise.
Somehow I think a Mini-Direct announcement would be received worse here than no Direct at all.
I'm hoping it will say something about atleast one of the games. If they tell me Animal Crossing news will be in there, I'll be ultra hyped.
We haven't even seen Pokémon 2019 yet and somehow some people here guarantee you it will 100% outsell Smash? I mean, for all we know Pokémon 2019 may not be able to beat Gold & Silver, whereas we've seen Ultimate's performance and it's going to crush Gold & Silver.

Well, I see what you mean, but Smash was a teaser at the end of the March direct and they acknowledged that it would be shown at the E3 direct.
Just say something like Fire Emblem will outsell Animal Crossing and you'll fit in.

I don't care for Metroid Prime Trilogy and I don't think it will sell to well. In fact I think that Pikmin 3 will sell better.

Ultimate's performance is due to the software selling power of the Switch. You can't just say Ultimate will outsell Gen 8 when the previous best selling Smash didn't even outsell ORAS which is a remake (and on the 3DS as opposed to the Wii)
And? There's still a decent chance Smash doe outsell gen 8. Being the fastest selling Nintendo game ever is nothing to sneeze at. Not saying it will happen, but saying so without doubt is being foolish.
Yeah, but they really didn't have anything else big to show at E3. This Direct has a lot of good content it could include and AC as much as I hope it comes out in early Summer may be set for a Fall release.
