The thing about Persona 5 not coming to Switch that doesn't track for me even with how strange Atlus is sometimes is that didn't Nintendo choose these DLC characters? Erdrick would make sense (and will make sense) per Dragon Quest XI S, so I'm tempted to view the situation from a binary perspective and reckon that Joker was chosen for similar rationale.

Then again, I'm often the first person cautioning others not to cling to perceived "patterns" in the industry.

I'm still sticking with my moneyhat theory about Atlus and Sony

This would be an ass move by Sony. If they really did something like that, they must have done it just to hurt Nintendo. They know very well a game like Persona has no business being on Xbox, so moneyhatting Persona can only be an offensive attack on Nintendo.

My theory is that it's Nintendo who moneyhatted the game. They wanted Persona but not the same game that's on PS4. Something different. That's why we're getting P5S, not P5R. Good tactic to steal some fanbase from PS.

I would still like to think that if Sony moneyhatted for exclusivity, Joker would have never been in Smash.

Joker has to have been chosen because Persona 5 is coming; if it isn't happening then there would've been way better characters to bring to Smash.
Yup. Jack frost would've been a better atlus rep if persona 5 wasn't coming. I'm still confident it's coming, regardless to what certain insiders say.

I can see that scenario. It would also explain why no one is saying anything at all in regards to P5 on Switch. It also explains the weird answer Reggie gave about P5 on Switch when Joker was announced.

Seems like they want a bigger stage (pun intended) by pairing it with the concert plus Joker's release. Plus, that random Twitter "insider" said weeks ago the Switch version won't be announced until the concert.

That would be the ultimate Atlus move, making two updated versions of P5 with their own separate new content so fans have to pay $120 to experience the whole story.

Nintendo does that thing much better. I have paid $80 to have full content for the games like Fire Emblem Fates or Legend of Zelda Oracle series (though both gave me ridiculous amount of game time).

Sounds like the most likely move, especially after what they did with those two dancing games. Each version has it's own new character with a different new dungeon and some slight story changes.

You mean their competitor? A business taking action to hurt their competitor? Perish the thought.

For the record, I think Persona 5 The Royal will come to Switch. It will be super weird for Joker to be in Smash with P4 remaining a Playstation exclusive.

More like 180$, fans already bought the game on PS4. And it would be Persona 3 again, two enhanced versions each missing something that the other has. I really really prefer the P4 Golden approach with one definitive version.

I am not gonna lie, I would buy the game two more times if it happens but I don't know where I'm going to get the time to play it two more times plus new game+ playthoughs.

At this point, Persona 5 on the Switch is on the same level of delusion as The Witcher 3 and GTA V.

Panic Button following Gearbox on Twitter now has me hoping for Borderlands 3 on Switch again. Am I setting myself up for disappointment?

You're not alone on this. It's perfectly logical. I mean, if Pitchford is a smart guy he'd totally go for it. There's currently no game like Borderlands on Switch, an open world FPS, they'd be the first to bring one. Free money.

If it was real I'd buy Gold or whatever edition day 1.

I think tw3 is coming. zell said to expect some major western game to be ported, as well as big support from japan
There are some western ports to be excited for, but the release lineup will still be the same blend we have seen since 2017 -- just a hint more western stuff. Still heavily Japanese software support.

4 days left for March. Is it still too early to complain about the lack of new announcements that were teased?

I don't know any specifics about his tease -- meaning, I can't say with certaity I know their exact tease. I have a hunch about what he may be referring to.

I suspect things will remain the same as we are seeing now, but may see a slight uptick in overall support.

And? Whats your guess as to what hes referring to?

Aren't you happy with all the announcements we had already?

I was expecting some decent third party announcements in March as teased. Not really a fan of anime games or the sniper games. Considering we get constant announcements of new anime games all the time I was kinda hopeful it was something different/bigger.

Both King Zell and Emily said support would definitely pick up this year and it definitely has, I don't expect PS4/One level support but I hope it can eventually get there throughout the years.

Cuphead and Cadence of Hylure are the big highlights for me.
Aside from indies including Cuphead, Mutant Year Zero, Rad and Shantae, we got Sniper Elite games and that Friday the 13th. Big pub wise it hasn't been one of "good months". Nowhere near January or February.
Thanks. I consider Cuphead pretty big because of the implications, but one more megaton would be nice. C'mon Gearbox
