Please remember Nintendo fans are diverse. NOT every Nintendo fan is a Zelda or Banjo fan.
They could announce Super Mario Odyssey 2, Metroid 5 and a new IP from Monolith Soft in this Direct and people will consider that bigger than Botw2 and Banjo.

But seriously, I'd kill for another Endless Ocean/remasters of the first two.
Right. BotW 2 is a very high moment, but give me a Monolith Soft IP, 2D Metroid, Pikmin 3 and another Nintendo IP and it's just as good, if not better for me.
Any third-party surprises that have yet to be discussed extensively, excluding the new Smash character and Overwatch?
A BotW 2 moment for me is a Paper Mario reveal going to its root, Super Mario Odyssey 2, a Retro game or a Monolith Soft game.

Really a missed opportunity to not have shirtless Mario in Odyssey have that tattoo. Tattoos are permanent, damn it!
That Botw 2 teaser was weaksauce anyway :p, not even a title
A botw2 moment for me is NintendOoo announcing one of the Champions ( mainly Urbosa or mipha ) as the next character to join smash
Direct is most likely happening this week, and its apparently going to be good.
Poster Who Knows Things says a Direct is coming and that they personally think it's better than the E3 Direct (which they were tepid on)

People have strong feelings re: classic N64 title Diddy Kong Racing and its viability as a franchise in this modern era.
Nintendo has typically held their direct a week prior to TGS, which would be this upcoming week. We know a fall direct is coming. Emily has said that she believes the direct will arrive this week as well. There have been an awful lot of rumors and rumblings about upcoming games/DLC. Gamespot out 18 unannounced Switch SKUs up on their website. Other than that some insiders have said to expect this to be a bigger direct.

Unless I'm off base, "no BOTW2 tier moment" to me reads as "SMO2 and Metroid Prime,( or crazy new AAA IP)" will not show up. (among actual probable BOTW2 tier choices)

PM, Bayo 3, Warioware, Pikmin 3/4 etc aren't quite a BOTW2 tier, so I wouldn't consider them disqualified yet. Bayo3 is TGA imo though.

I loved the E3 direct but if we get Mario, Metroid, and Monolith, that's an A+ direct
So you mean just more surprises and games that weren't revealed already.
E3 was great but most of the games there leaked and expected. I can see why not everyone was high on it, but getting more trailers on already reveal games are something I personally like.
Not much out there could reach BotW2 tier other than BotW2 :P
What would honestly be considered a "BotW" moment by NateDrake? I feel like if he's looking at the big picture then it's only Super Mario Odyssey 2 and Metroid Prime 4. I don't think anything else fits this.

You know the only thing that can back this up is a retro studios game, or monolithsoft game, or new Mario
Metroid Prime 4 was never a possibility for now due to the dev reboot (and it's not a big enough franchise to fit the criteria tbh), but yeah, SMO2 is probably the only other announcement that could garner a similar response from the community at large, so I guess it's probably not showing up here. As much as some other games like a monolith soft title would excite me personally, I don't think think it would qualify because Monolith Soft is ultimately a niche developer
Well put, tired of Smash, can't wait for the final Smash character to be revealed and Nintendo can finally focus on dlc for good games.
