Does Zippo actually knows things, or... ? What's going on?

I have the same question. He acts like he knows things, but I see no reason to believe. He doesn't really commit to anything. I wonder if this is a case of folks believing someone because they speak confidently.

At least, until he starts teasing Metroid. Then, it might be bullshit but I'll believe it.

I sorta identify big releases as the following titles:
  • 3D Mario
  • NEW 2D Mario (not Mario Maker or ports)
  • 3D Zelda
  • Smash Bros
  • Animal Crossing
  • Pokemon
  • Mario Kart
  • Splatoon (although this is a lesser one)
  • Luigi's Mansion (new addition to the list)
  • Wii Sports
I don't count 2D Zelda, Metroid, Xenoblade, Mario Maker, Donkey Kong, Pikmin, Mario Sports, Paper Mario, Mario Party, etc as big releases. Those are more or less medium releases. I almost didn't count Splatoon, Luigi's Mansion, or Wii Sports either.
How are 2d zelda and dk not considered big?

Last year wasn't really big in this regard, with only Pokemon and Luigi's Mansion. Will 2020 be bigger in this regard, or can you not answer this?

Mario Party is definitely a big release, though. Judging by SMP at least

Well really Xenoblade DE is in the same vein, isn't it? It's going to maybe sell 1.5 to 2 million copies, so hardly a huge commercial hit, but it's become an important franchise for the dedicated fanbase (myself included). It's one of those games that signal Nintendo hasn't forgotten their core, vocal fanbase (which is what they were often seen as doing during the Wii/DS era).

Yeah, by "fan favorite", Xenoblade is a good indicator of what i mean. They won't be multi million sellers, but they'll sell to an enthusiast crowd that will keep buying them.

I think Imran actually teased Xenoblade 2.
Yes.

ShockingAlberto (now known as Imran) hinted at Xenoblade 2 a few months prior to its reveal. We also have a potential insider outside of this website who seems to have some knowledge on some of the behind-the-scenes stuff at Monolith Soft.

The company has grown significantly over the last couple years, making it more prone to having its projects leaked to the public.
Ah, I see. Surprising, we don't seem to ever get MS teases of any kind

I'm checking out the best selling games for the recent Nintendo systems and I was surprised to see Tomodachi Life so high on the 3DS list.

Didn't we get some insider info about Nintendo "reviving" portable/3DS franchises on Switch? I could see that coming out.

I don't count Miitopia as part of the series as they didn't use the same name even though they have tons of stuff in common

Like i said, that really depends on who you're asking. I don't think anyone i know has a full grasp on the year 10 days in. There's absolutely going to be a number of marquee releases this year though. Smash and Pokemon DLC might as well be considered new games. Those will get just as much hype as any new release.

Metroid isn't happening guys get over it. Do you actually believe Retro Studios even exist? It's a conspiracy set up by the Japanese government to fish whales in Texas. The secret Texas sea the government has been lying to you about.

Wake up sheeple!

I think Chibi-Robo! fans should probably come to terms with the fact that the most they're ever gonna get at this point is that Mii Fighter outfit in Smash Bros.

Kind of what I was thinking. Crowd pleasers to me means the big IP's, return of old IPs and what many people have been asking for. Retros F-Zero...I want Diddy Kong racing ☹

Ma, I just want a new Nintendo racing game. It can be Wave Race, DKR, or F-Zero and I will die happy!

Donkey Kong is big, I don't even want to acknowledge the quote who said otherwise.

I myself don't care about Jumpman (better known as Mario), haha

The talks about Pikmin 3 re-release and 4 made me think.

Is it wise to release two Pikmin games in the same year?
