We all know when Zelda finally makes its movie debut it will be loosely based on Ocarina with a Twilight Princess style.
"It is quite obvious why Other M did not succeed when compared to other Nintendo games; it features a female main character," says Sakamoto, "Mario, Link, Kirby. Those are all male Nintendo characters that never fail to generate good sales."
"It's not just about the sales either," adds Sakamoto, "The game as a whole was received fairly poorly compared to other hit Nintendo titles. I personally wrote the story for the game so I know it can't be that. I mean, I created a strong, female character that people just could not accept. I apologize if gamers feel like they were emasculated playing the game, but that shouldn't affect your judgment of everything else."
When asked about the success of the Metroid Prime series compared to Other M, Sakamoto replied, "Most people who play that game are completely unaware that the main character is a female. This is why it avoided what hurt Other M the most. I believe that if Other M had disguised Samus's gender like in Metroid Prime, Other M would have surpassed the entire Metroid series."
"Perhaps for the next Metroid game, we should have Adam Malkovich become the lead character. I can't wait to write his story," says Sakamoto.

This would be great! Samus could be the only human actor, and the Chozo could be portrayed by Sam the Eagle and a bunch of lookalikes.
I have tried Prime 2 on a few occasions and really like it, but it never clicked with me like 1 and 3 did. 1 > 3 > 2 is my ranking but 2 is still like an 8.5 to me.
That's fair. 2 was considerably more difficult and Torvus Bog did feel like a brick wall at times (which is a shame because Sanctuary Fortress is hands down the best Metroid area IMO). What was it that put you off about it?
3 never clicked with me, I never really enjoyed Skytown and the final boss(es) felt like a let down compared to 1 and 2. Also escort missions oof. The beam stacking felt like a bit of a waste too or rather I wish there would have been more beams to stack like the 2D games, Spazer/Wide in 3D could have been cool.
february has been quieter than I expected

Hey guys remember when Nintendo used directs to show their line up ? It was so cool, I miss them.
Going to be so many meltdowns if we have an AC direct before a general direct but at least it would stop the constant what if Nintendo stopped doing directs posts, but then again the Pokemon direct didn't stop them either.

I don't know if we'll get that many meltdowns? People know both of them are inevitable - I'm super ready for an AC Direct personally.

I'm not interested in buying Animal Crossing, but I am looking forward to an AC Direct to see whether there is something that might bring me on board.
If it's literally the same game, again, then I've been there before and honestly dont have the time or patience for it!
If theres some innovation and more of a structure to the 1P experience, even just part of it, then I might be tempted.
Much like Pokemon, I'm expecting it to just be more of the same - not a criticism per se, just not going to tempt me. That said, the game was delayed... so perhaps there's something more to show?

Well with smash, people were just pissed at the character revealed.
People were pissed about the Pokemon direct and Smash presentation airing before a general direct. And that's not even counting the people pissed at the Pokemon controversies or the people pissed that it was Byleth. I feel like if we get another game specific direct or an Indies direct before a general direct it's going to make those same people go even more over the edge, so to speak.
Nah there were people pissed off even before they found out who the character was. All variations of these two quotes "OMG when will Smash end it's trash and I don't care about this franchise" or "Why? This should have been 5 minutes at most in a general direct. This is unnecessary.".
Or the subsequent never ending speculation about the next DLC fighter that taints every Nintendo discussion and how the fans have the audacity to get angry when smash isn't mentioned for once
