Someone probably saw images from the starlink update, and told it to someone who told it to someone who told it to someone and we got this rumour. At one point (or several) in the chain, a bad conclusion was drawn.
I've seen the Starlink explanation brought up a lot, and it does make a lot of sense. Hopefully Star Fox comes back in a bigger way outside of Starlink.Insiders have come out now to say it was apparently a big hoax. We don't know more than that but I think it was probably the racing update in Starlink that got people to reevaluate and check again with their sources.
As for 3D DK that's not even a rumor, just speculation/hopes and dreams. We don't know if Retro will even have anything this year (or before MP4) but it does kinda feel like the last chance for that to be possible.
The robot hand seems to be related to an inside joke or something like that, a bunch of Retro employees and ex employees were talking about it like it was something that would be disappointing if we thought it related to a new game.
Probably tomorrowSo.
How many days before we start seeing 4chan "leaks" and "rumours"?
I give it a week from now.
Nooo! Say it ain't so!
Oh well. Then I hope some crazy 3D Donkey Kong that's outrageously ambitious has been in the works all this time.
Its time for 3D, not like Kirby were its stuck forever in 2D if Nintendo wants to continue DK eventually they should give a shot at 3D by Retro, they have the talent, i think, a third Country game would be a little underwhelming imo
A 3D game would be great, but after Tropical Freeze, I want one final 2D game to round the series off. I want to see if they can make a 2D game even better than their last one. To me, and I'm sure to any other Tropical Freeze fans, 2D wouldn't be underwhelming at al.
Yeah I want another 2D game too.
Bring back my animal buddies. Also have the other Kongs playable solo from the start without going to hard mode.
Where does Emily's fourth mystery game slide into this scenario? The possibility is there for it to be delayed to 2020, but Emily seemed fairly confident in that and Pikmin 3 making it this year.I think the only unannounced 1st party games to be revealed at e3 will be a WiiU port (SMTxFE or TWW/TP HD) and maybe Retro's game (the robot hand game), if that.
They honestly already have plenty to showcase. Luigi's Mansion 3, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and Link's Awakening are like "the big 4" for the Switch holiday.
I can see them doing a teaser trailer for the next Zelda though. Similar to the 2014 Zelda U trailer. Show us a 2019 teaser for the inevitably 2021 release.

These two posts are pretty much my personal wish list for one more Retro DKC.Yeah, that's a must. Of course, I'd want K Rool and the Kremlings back too, with some sort of new theme to them. Oh, and David Wise definitely needs to do the soundtrack again.
Civ 6
completely different genres. Get the game whose genre you like better, I guess.

Also, there is a 0% chance of there being no 2020 announcements, so a Wii U port being the only first party announcement isn't happening.
Super Mario Maker 2 short "one last thing" before release trailer
Animal Crossing, announce the full title as well as some gameplay
Astral Chain, trailer that shows UI and more gameplay features
DaemonxMachina, trailer thanking for demo's feedback along with gameplay and release date
Pokemon Sword & Shield, short trailer that shows a bit more that isn't in the prior Pokemon Sword and Shield Direct (predict one is coming)
FE:Three Houses, more story and gameplay/feature trailer
Smash Bros:Ultimate, DLC Character Announcement
MUA3, trailer that shows more characters and story
Luigi Mansion 3, story trailer and new gameplay
WiiU ports, a few more titles making their way over (XBX, W101, TMS#FE, etc.)
Big Indies, short trailer showing off a few big indies shadowdropping/announced
3rd Party Games, with some "finally/wow" moments, and some "really?/why?" moments
Surprise Game Announcements, (Retro's game, 3rd Party Collabs, Pikmin Trilogy, MPT, Starfox GP), and NSO features
I think any big Mario Maker and Smash announcements will be at their E3 tournaments on June 8th instead. Mario Maker will probably just get a quick mention, while Smash might go without any mention at all during the main E3 Direct (like E3 2015). Both will still get Treehouse time though. My E3 Direct Predictions (didn't realize the large amount of games already known about to release 2019...)
Includes both very likely, as well as dream predictions...lol

Ill be complete satisfied with that honestlyTime for my wild speculations:
Thing that certainly will be shown:
• Astral Chain Story Trailer
• Luigi's Mansion 3 Trailer
• Fire Emblem: Three Houses Release Date Trailer
• Fast Look at Pokémon Sowrd and Shield (since it would be shown one day before the E3 direct, perhaps)
• Daemon X Machina Trailer
• Animal Crossing big-ass Trailer
• Indies Exclusives
• One major 3rd party IP
Things which are pretty wild to expect:
• New Zelda Teaser (since kingzell leaked that new zelda is coming 2020)
• Pikmin 4/Reboot Trailer
• Retro IP (SF:GP, DKC3/3D, new IP)
• Mother 3 lol
• Bayonetta 3 Trailer
• Mario 3D World/Galaxy Collection Port/Remaster
• Paper Mario faithful to its origins
• Metroid Prime Trilogy
If two of my wild expectations turns out to be correct, I'll consider myself an insider lol
Why is it necessary to "round the series off"? Folks loved TF, and it didn't end in some kind of cliffhanger. They shouldn't be shackled to the concept of a trilogy.
3D game from Retro or bust.
Because Tropical Freeze was one of the best 2D platformers ever, and I want another game like Tropical Freeze. Pretty simple.
Yeah. This whole "rounding off" or needing to "complete the trilogy" never made sense to me lol. It's not like there's some obligation to do 3 DKC games because Rare made 3 DKC games 😆.Why is it necessary to "round the series off"? Folks loved TF, and it didn't end in some kind of cliffhanger. I think we're seeing the next Zelda this year. I can feel it in my jellies. If not at E3 (which I so hope it is), then at the Game Awards.

I'm waiting for Paper Mario. I'm kind of anxious on what Nintendo will do. I'm hoping they do the right thing.Time for my wild speculations:

Open with AC blowout, close with Zelda tease immediately after Z:LAR blowout imo.
What do you folks think, which one of these games on Switch at E3 is the most likely? Which one is the least? Can someone put them in order from least to most likeliness?
Rage 2 (10)
The Witcher 3 (11)
Kingdom Hearts remasters (2)
Devil May Cry 5 (don't forget, we're promised) (8)
Fallout 3/New Vegas remasters (4)
Halo MCC (6)
Battletoads (3)
Timesplitters Trilogy (1)
GTA5 (5)
Watch Dogs 3 (9)
Viewtiful Joe 3 (7)

random useless info:
despite the E3 directs being longer, they usually feature less games than the normal general directs. they do usually have a quick reel of some 3rd party games tho, featuring 1 or 2 new announcements but mostly just reminding people of already announced upcoming games.
here are the games featured in the last two e3 directs:
e3 2017:
1. Xenoblades Chronicles 2
2. Kirby
3. Pokkén DX
4. Pokémon RPG for Switch
5. Metroid Prime 4
6. Yoshi
7. Fire Emblem Warriors
8. Breath of the Wild DLC
9. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
10. Rocket League trailer
11. Super Mario Odyssey
e3 2018:
1. Daemon x Machina
2. Xenoblades Chronicles 2 Torna the Golden Country
3. Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee
4. Super Mario Party
5. Fire Emblem Three Houses
6. Fortnite
7. Overcooked 2
8. Killer Queen Black
9. Hollow Knight
10. Octopath Traveler
11. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
the september 2018 and february 2019 directs each featured like ~30 games.
Does anyone think Nintendo might play it cool at E3 considering Sony isn't going to have much presence? Maybe they will save more announcements etc for later in the year (like in directs when they have ALL the attention on them)? Maybe they will save 2020 announcements for directs later in the year?
Honestly I don't think any of these are a chance. However I think if one of them were to come to fruition it would be one of the smaller budget games like VJ3 or Battletoads, maybe a Timesplitters 2 port. The big AAA games, Rage 2, Witcher 3, Watch Dogs - No chance.
I missed it in my first take but KH has a decent chance too.
I think we could potentially get a tease.
It's getting less and less crazy to suggest it's in a showable state. Zelda is typically the big game that breaks Nintendo's "show for the first time somewhat close to release" rule pretty consistently, often getting first teased years in advance.
Since we already know the big games coming out, it'd be a good finale.

Not going to lie, that will kinda make worried about how they'll pace their lineup after this year.Sony's presence or lack thereof is irrelevant.
That being said, I don't expect more than one or two new announcements at E3 with another one or two reveals during the Nintendo Direct in the Fall.
That's like not until 2023 or 2024. I'd be surprised if we don't get at least one more 3D Zelda title or major Aonuma game before thenThe BOTW sequel will be on Switch 2. I don't think they can ignore how successful the launches of the Wii and Switch were, even if it's more correlation than causation.
